We all know that Rempe is going to be the “Ogie Oglithorpe” call-up to settle some grudges later in the season.
I mean everyone knows he isn’t good
He’s being played above his pay grade to try and round out his game. He’s never going to be more than a 4th liner, but it’s good experience for him.
He could be quite a unique and effective 4th liner, but he he has quite a bit to learn. The AHL is a developmental league after all, so if spoon feeding him more minutes than he is ready for helps in his development then so be it. Even if the Pack struggles a little bit.
Adam Herman? People still follow this loser?
For context, the Pack has lost 4 of their last 5, so nobody’s stat lines from the past 5 games are going to be any good. I don’t know that anyone with half a brain thought that Rempe would be a point a game player at the AHL just because he played half a season in the NHL last year. So there’s absolutely nothing surprising about these stats. The point of sending Rempe down was so that he could get playing time, to be able to work on more game situations than he would at the NHL level, and he’s getting that.
He is (AND WAS LAST YEAR AND THE RANGERS THEMSELVES KNEW THIS) an AHL bottom 6er at this point who hopefully can develop into something more.
But he came up in a pinch (they picked edstrom first but he got hurt) and played fisticuffs with anyone who glanced his way and hockey men (and the fans) love that especially when the team lacks that edge like they kind of do.
But… he’s not “good” at hockey. At least not yet.
Starting to think he’s not very good.
Edström has both outplayed and outfought Rempe this season when things heated up, that’s what you need in the playoffs, not prearranged lame shit with some chump in the opposing team. Love Rempe, he’s a good guy but unfortunately he sucks at playing hockey and is way to old to suddenly learn.
He’s there for enforcement. Thats fine. He’s literally brought up and down which can also give another guy some rest. His contract seems like it won’t be extended, but he could also be cheap.
Herman seems to absolutely hate Rempe and I don’t really understand why. Rempe’s first game back–quite literally on the day he got sent down–Herman also mockingly tweeted about his stats. He’s just a rookie, I don’t really understand the need to be so cruel about him not playing well.
Besides, Hartford is playing bad as a whole; most of the players look awful. They haven’t scored on the PP in forever.
And they sent him down🤷♂️
I mean once Edstrom made the line up (rightfully so) with Carrick and Vesey there was absolutely no way Rempe was getting a roster spot this year and I’m surprised some people expected him to lmao
Rempe got called up last season because our bottom 6 last year got cleaned out either on waivers or injuries aside from Goodrow and Vesey, and Kakko and Cythil being injured. It was great for him to get that time, but he obviously still needs to develop more he’s still so young he’s only 22.
Regardless of these stats I’m glad he’s getting consistent playtime to work on his game, when he’s finally ready that kid is going to be a menace in this league.
The pack are struggling greatly .. so it’s hard to compare .. the defense is a mess .. I guess so much for staals help
