I’ve heard Burke and Linden tell this story, so I’d say true.

“Sounds like you’ve got your hands full with those testes. You can skip these tests.”
Itās true and Burkie included in his book Burkeās Law as well.
Burke’s told this story several times, don’t see why it wouldn’t be true
Really hard to imagine a modern athlete doing that on the side. I feel like you are pretty much 100% hockey from the time you are peewee these days.
Thatās nuts
Read Burkes book if you havenāt, some great Vancouver related stories
For anyone who doesnāt know, Linden is a big fān guy. 6ā4ā I believe? Guy was an absolute unit during his playing days. Strong, strong guy.
Soundsā¦ on brandā¦ with everything Iāve ever heard about Linden and Burke.
Now I wish they always tested rookies physical strength by wrestling young cattle.
Didnāt grow up a Canucks fan, and never really got the Linden devotion here. Like, his number is retired?!?
But once youāve been around and hear the stories and people start talking about what he meant, particularly in the 94 run, you start to get it. Iconic leader, the kind of guy you build a team dynamic around
I absolutely love how Linden sounds like a country bumpkin asking for a loan at the bank while wearing his best gingham shirt and jeans and holding his cowboy hat
Linden always looked like he was having a great time playing hockey.

I just saw this on Twitter (https://x.com/HabsFan12121212/status/1856098595411239091). Things were a little different back then!
