[Raanan] Brian Daboll asked if Daniel Jones is still the starting quarterback. Won’t say yes. Only that they are “evaluating things.”

  1. Between this, Schwartz yesterday, Schefter’s tweet about Jones’ injury guarantee and Lock being the backup, this is probably the strongest sign we’ll get that a benching is coming.

  2. Cool now we win 3 games and ruin our shot at a top qb.

Benching dj is the right move, regardless of what I just said

  3. We can’t have it both ways. If we’re done with Jones, then we need to bench him and put in Lock. We have a couple of weeks before the next game.

I don’t think it’s going to matter and we’re not making the playoffs.

  4. He’s done.

Evaluating = Figuring out the classy way to handle it, ensure Jones remains a team player and run it through Dex and Burns to sell it to the locker room

  5. You do not want that injury guarantee kicking in. If lock was so bad it’s taken this long to think about starting him then maybe the tank is very alive still. Some of the fans here need to make up their mind for what they want under center. You can’t say bench jones and that we are ruining our tank at the same time.

  6. This may seem weird but it seems Daboll and Schoen may feel relieved to bench Jones because had they done it while he was playing decently (while losing), then people will accuse them of thinking strickly about money and not trying to win. At least with him playing bad, it makes their decision easier and the optics won’t look bad for them. If Jones didn’t have that guarantee, the chances of him playing increases imo

  7. Just pull the fucking trigger on benching him already.

Like seriously… what HAVEN’T they seen in Jones that they just need a few more games to see?

I know that Lock is arguably a downgrade but that is completely fine with me at this point. Take the walking injury clause off the field and put in someone who won’t cost you 25 million dollars if he gets hurt on a routine play.

  8. Daboll and jones should be gone. They haven’t done shit for the last 2 years. How is this even a question???

  9. Jones is the best bet for a QB in the draft. Just goes to show that tanking is not an option.

I hope Schoen has a QB in mind to buy or trade future picks for.

  10. I know they have to use media speak and avoid answering the tough questions for a bit, but this shouldn’t even be a long discussion. Daniel Jones has consistently been a bottom 3 starter this year. He owns a 57 game streak of not throwing 3 TDs. I can’t even remember the last time he cracked 300 passing yards (edit: Last year versus the Cardinals) He either makes a bad decision or is blind/inaccurate on what feels like half of our plays.

All of that should be enough to bench him, and I didn’t even mention his injury clause that would literally cripple the team next year. The ONE good thing about that 160M deal was the out after 2 that Joe Schoen implemented. Why risk ruining the ONE positive from a huge blunder. Fireable offense if he gets hurt and it screws us.

  11. Let’s activate Tommy and use one of the 3 each down, make their defenses prepare for that!

  12. This is how the evaluate things:

“Hey John, remember when you said, “*We*’ve *done everything* possible to screw this kid up since he’s been here”. Can we agree that the kid has done everything possible to screw us up this season? So can we bench his ass now?”

  13. So then who’s the backup. If it’s Jones and Lock gets walloped you’re back in the same boat. It’s gotta be Cutlets.

  14. It should in no way be Drew Lock as staring QB. You know what he is, let’s see Devito and see if he can be viable back up next year

  15. Jones,Daboll, and Schoen all need to be gone next year we need to fully clean house new qb new system build around our guy

  16. 10 games in and your still “evaluating” things proves that Daboll not only is incompetent but he also doesn’t have a long term plan
