  1. 50/50, dodgers franchise leader in single season home runs runs, mvp and a World Series championship in year one. Couldn’t have written it better

  2. As much as I would have loved Mookie to be the second ever AL/NL MVP last year, I’ll absolutely take Shohei doing it this year.

  3. THE GREATEST THERE IS, THE GREATEST THERE WAS AND THE GREATEST THERE EVER WILL BE!!!

  4. Long shot given just a DH. Would need to have a pretty remarkable record breaking, history setting season to win it….oh wait

  5. “Pitcher while rehabbing accomplishes first ever 50/50 season en route to title”

“Frankie Lindor (almost) carries mets to long awaited title”

“From worst to first!…. And back? Marte unable to carry snakes back to playoffs”

Now who you voting for? lol

  6. Obviously Shohei should win. But I’ll be curious to see if it’s unanimous. I remember watching the Chris Rose/Trevor Plouffe podcast (I forget the name) a few months ago and they had Katie Woo on as a guest.

I believe she covers the Cardinals, but she gets an MVP vote so someone asked her, “who ya voting for?” And while she’s not allowed to say directly, she implied “I can’t bring myself to vote for a DH so we’ll see.” Granted, her opinion may have changed since then as he was probably “only” around 30/30 at the time, but I imagine some older school voters will have similar reservations about voting for a DH, even if he’s one of a kind and deserves it.

  8. The fact that Shohei was with the Angels since 2018 and they went nowhere, then wins WS his first year (out of potential 10) as a Dodger. His destiny was always with the Dodgers.

  9. No disrespect to Lindor and Marte, but there shouldn’t be any nominations for this and just straight up announce Shohei.

  10. He reached 50/50. It’s a lock. Just like how Judge beat him out in 2022 by breaking the HR record with 62.
