Caufield Segment:

[Pengu] "It's been a while. We're playing the right way. Just want to get the results. At the end of the day, this is a pretty good feeling in the room right now." – Caufield

[Pengu] Caufield on how he feels after scoring 2 goals: "Not bad, it's good to be on the board and help the team win."

[Pengu] Caufield on how big the two goals Suzuki scored at the end of the second period: "They were huge. Big player. That type of spot in the game. Put us right back in it. Just huge goals and momentum swing."

[Pengu] Caufield on how to show the confidence that you can still win in situations where they had to fight back a few times: "Just stick to it. You're never out of a game. It's a big building block for our team going forward. To finally get one, it feels pretty good."

Dach Segment:

[Pengu] Dach on how nice it is to get his line producing: "It's nice to produce and be part of a line, but I think for the most part, we focused on getting out of that slump and winning a game. From here on out, we can roll and keep playing the way we did tonight. There are some things that we want to pick up and clean up, but can't be perfect all of the time."

[Pengu] Dach on if there is a huge relief in the dressing room after a victory like that: "If you go through a stretch like that, you appreciate the grind and the brotherhood that we have in this locker room and how we stick together as a group of 20-23 guys and do the right things each and every day and come out on the right side of it. We're not cheating it at practice, we're not cheating it in the game, wishing or wanting it to happen. We're going out there, we're working for it, and it was nice to be rewarded for it."

[Pengu] Dach on the Sabres coming back a few times and it being good for the confidence around the building[?]: "They're a good team. They got guys that can score goals. They got guys that can make plays and we knew that going in, but it shows to the resilience of the group… The empty net was a little scary there with [Anderson] and [Suzuki]."

Slafkovsky Segment:

[Pengu] Slafkovsky on how big was Suzuki today: "He's good. He's all over the ice. Makes the smart play every time, and you just love to play with him. He scored two goals-two apples-whatever. Didn't want to score a hat trick at the end there, that was crazy."

[Pengu] Slafkovsky on what makes him think that they had a chance of coming back after the Sabres scored two on them in the beginning of the third: "The whole game was up and down, and even though were down before already, we knew there was a chance. We just kept playing, making the right decisions, and thank God we won."

[Pengu] Slafkovsky on if this was his best game this season: "Yes, it's one of the better ones after I don't know how many I played, 13? Or whatever. Probably 12 bad games. So, it's good that finally had something going."

St-Louis Segment:

The following is provided by u/XeroHex:

Reporter@9:05: “Has to feel good?”

MLS: “For sure, we needed a Victoire.”

Reporter: “Your leaders and captain […] took in charge today.”

MLS: “Yes, they, as if… you know I know not everyone thinks like me. I know the results were not there recently. How we want to play as a team was evolving. It does not guarantee wins, but tonight it was as if the boys have told themselves “Ok, that’s enough. We’ve had enough. Let’s go.” I’m proud of the group.”

Reporter@9:50: “You have told [the reporter] that it feels good. At what point does bringing [the loss-streak] to an end bring to the mood?”

MLS: “It’s not an easy league. It’s not an easy league. I told the boys after the game: I remember as a player that I thought I would never have another game in the league. Darn there would be times when I thought I would never score again in this league. As a young coach, I got to the point of asking myself “Am I going to win another game in this league?” And, for sure, the league is tough, sometimes it’s not how you play, but the results that beat you emotionally. We stayed together, we kept working on what we needed to. We needed this Victoire, but it’s one game. We know we have a recipe to in every game. Like you have said, [earlier reporter], our top guys played the game. I think the group had enough and said let’s go. We were not perfect; we played good hockey.”

Reporter@11:00: “Your trios must have had some words since you modified the lines. Everyone, Slafkovsk–”

MLS: “We started our lines with how we ended our lines in Toronto. There are trios that get shuffled from time to time when you end a PP or end a PK, generally I kept my trios together with how we ended in Toronto.”

Reporter@11:24: “The Buffalo Sabers came back 3 times in the game; it must have been discouraging, but you’ve stayed in it.”

MLS: “Yeah, it’s tough. We scored first, it has been a while since we had a lead. Next shift, paf (BUF (1)-1). I think we scored the second goal and then same thing. We’ve challenged ourselves emotionally many times during the game. But like I’ve said I think the boys had enough and did the job."

Reporter@11:54: “You said challenging yourselves emotionally, but after the 2nd you guys had a good feeling with 2 goals ending the first with a 4-3 lead. But starting the 3rd trailing 4-5. Tell us, how difficult was it to–”

MLS: “It’s not easy emotionally, recently we’ve been a fragile group. Tonight, the boys decided not to be fragile. They said: Let’s go.”

Note from u/XeroHex: I have decided to keep Victoire in as much as possible, to commemorate the naming of la Victoire de Montreal for the season… maybe

[Pengu] MSL on the line that got them that tying goal spent a lot of time in the offensive zone: "That line was great in Toronto, I thought, and they were great again tonight. I think they understand how we want to play. It would be nice to come off the rush and have chances and stuff, there's so much back pressure in the league, you have to get pucks deep and what's the assignment once you get the puck deep. Everybody has got to do their job and try to win our puck back and activate the o-zone. We're still improving at that. Not being one and done. I think it's very important because when you value the puck in there, without having any hope plays, the team cannot surge or cannot get their offensive game going, and that's deflating for the team, so we've got to keep having that mindset."

[Pengu] MSL on chatting with Slafkovsky on the things he's been talking about: "[Slafkovsky]'s a young player. There's a heaviness to what we're going through right now, collectively, but individually, try to touch my player, just have a conversation before the game, keep things in perspective."

General Segment:

Translation:

This weekend in Toronto, Kent Hughes says he had dinner with Martin St-Louis and Adam Nicholas. He mentions he never ran into Gerard Gallant. “The last time I saw Gerard was at the NHL Awards when he won coach of the year.” -Kent Hughes

[Engels] Habs say Nick Suzuki, Josh Anderson, Joel Armia, Cole Caufield, Jake Evans and Brendan Gallagher are headed to Toronto to be present for Shea Weber's Hall of Fame induction. Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton will be there, too.
