[Pro Football Talk] Chiefs think JuJu Smith-Schuster, Isiah Pacheco, Charles Omenihu are close to returning

  1. The NFL’s only undefeated team has some roster reinforcements coming their way.

Head coach Andy Reid told reporters at his Monday press conference that he believes wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, running back Isiah Pacheco, and defensive end Charles Omenihu are “very close” to returning to action.

Reid said Smith-Schuster is the closest of the three. He’s missed the last three games with a hamstring injury and will try to get on the practice field ahead of the Week 11 trip to Buffalo.

Pacheco fractured his fibula in Week Two and has not been designated for return from injured reserve yet. Omenihu tore his ACL and has not played or practiced yet this season.

    Let’s fucking go Kingdom

  2. I’m hopeful Hollywood can get a game or 2 in at the end of the regular season as well so he’s ready to contribute come playoffs but that may be a pipe dream

  3. It’ll be great to see Juju out there! When that 3rd down fade in the end zone went to Ross, I was reminded that our WR corps is still thin. Juju really rounds it out beautifully. I can get behind this: DHop, Juju, Worthy/Hardman/Watson in the slot.

And poor Hunt has carried a ridiculous workload so I’m thrilled at the possibility of Pacheco coming back – even if we have to ease him back in.

  4. We really need all three. Kareem is doing very good but we are giving him heavy carries, he needs help, the pass rush desperately needs somebody else and the wr room speaks for itself. Now if the miraculous can happen and we get Watson back ( I know….

  5. They’ll be returning in time for other guys to get extra by weeks to heal before playoffs. I’m honestly wondering how much Mahomes plays once we got #1 seed locked down. I bet Netflix will be PISSED if he’s benched for the Christmas Day game to avoid injury.

  6. I say leave hunt in and keep Pacheco for a backup. Or I guess swap them. Idk. Don’t listen to me. I just watch football.

  7. Feels like I hear this every single week. Yes, another week has passed, so technically, we’re closer to their returns.

  8. Even 1/3 of that crew is big, getting all 3 is massive. The patience this team has shown, you just have to applaud the coaching and leadership in the locker room. Steady, locked in, doing the work, winning.

  9. Obviously Chiefs have had some luck getting to 9-0, but I don’t think fans realize just how beat up this team is. Missing so many contributors, while being 9-0 is pretty insane.

Crazy that this team might take another decent step when all these players make it back.

I think the biggest might be Pop. Hunt is clearly getting worn down. If we can get a 1-2 punch going between them, should help our rushing game which has started to wane over the last couple of weeks.
