I just want a healthy team

  1. No one team in the NHL is ever 100% through the season. It’s the hardest, most physical game in the world. Injuries happen & it’s why we field 20 players.

That being said, the Canucks’ history with injury does stand out in the NHL. It’s part of what makes the team the Canucks, to be honest.

  2. Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Popliteus the Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you.

Darth Popliteus was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so wise and so powerful that he could manipulate the Force to influence the very muscles of the knee joint to unlock and flex at will. Some say he even held the power to prevent injuries like ACL tears and to heal tendons with but a thought. His mastery over anatomy was so advanced that he could keep himself—and those he cared for—free from knee pain and fully mobile.

The dark side of the Force was a pathway to many abilities some consider to be… unnatural. He became so knowledgeable that he could use the Force to keep knee joints stable, an ability he taught only to his apprentice. But, as is the way with the Sith, his apprentice began to envy his power.

One night, as Darth Popliteus was resting (in a kneeling position, of course), his apprentice betrayed him. In one swift, treacherous movement, he struck him down, seizing control of the legendary Force abilities to unlock and stabilize the knee. And thus, Darth Popliteus met his end—not in battle, but from the very joint he’d spent a lifetime mastering.

It’s ironic, really. He could save others from knee pain… but not himself.

  3. This Popletius injury goes well with Sami salo being bitten by a poisonous snake and Sopel’s injury picking up a cracker
