Surprised he doesn’t mention dodgers in a meeting
Yankees with the last meeting and the opportunity to match the best offer. Also, it would be kind of fun if Soto signed before Thanksgiving. Boras knows Soto’s market is strong so there’s no reason to really drag it out. And Boras has a bunch of other big clients that need to sign that would probably prefer not to wait til mid-January; especially since that strategy blew up in Boras’s face so spectacularly last offseason. Finally, I’m sure that the teams in the bidding have told him that Soto’s holding all of their other plans up, and that they need clarity quickly, one way or the other.
Us being last means he wants us to have the best shot. What Cohen will offer scares me a bit, but being last, we’ll have the opportunity to match or beat the highest offer
This is good for us, at least Hal will have some idea what other teams are offering before he gives his initial offer
Cohen will offer the most, the question is how high is Hal willing to go, will playing for the yankees the premier franchise along with Judge be enough to make up for the the lack of contract, for example I can see the mets going to 650 mill hal tops at 600, will the 50 mill spread out over 13-14 years be the difference. I just don’t see Cohen missing out solely on $
Boras is using Boston and Toronto as window dressing, doing everything possible to boost the price.
