[Passan] For Juan Soto, the Toronto Blue Jays have the first meeting with him and Scott Boras this week. The Boston Red Sox would be next. Then the New York Mets. And the New York Yankees. The Juan Soto sweepstakes is heating up.

I’m just happy to have been invited to the party, but I think I’ll be leaving alone
Driving up the price for the Yankees >>>
it’s nice to be included
Long off-season is long.
Biggest FA holding meetings before the winter meetings happen? At the very least it doesn’t seem like Soto’s market is gonna drag out for months
I’m huffing my copium for a few minutes as a Red Sox fan.
It’s always worth waiting for Passan to weigh in, he just cuts through all the noise and BS that other reporters bank on to generate clicks.
Sounds like the non-NY teams are gonna drive up the price for the NY teams by putting in their offers early, and then the Mets and Yankees are gonna bid against each other until one of them blinks. Dodgers will only be in the mix if the final number isn’t ridiculous, which I have a hard time believing it won’t be. They should try to sign Teo before Soto is off the board though since the losers in that sweepstakes will definitely pivot to him.
Travel can be so tiresome and the border crossing can be tough.
I think once he gets into Canada. He should just stay and not worry about further travel.
no way Henry does it…
unless…
right ? right ?
COME TO BAWSTAN SWEET PRINCE
Passan is reporting this then now I’m intrigued still not gonna happen for us tho but cool to be mentioned I guess
Salary cap needs to become a thing
There was no deal, there was never gonna be a deal…
But is ohtani getting off the plane?
Bro if this is over before thanksgiving, I’ll be so happy.
We had a meeting with Yamamoto too but ended it “wow that’s 150 million more than we thought you can have him!”
Thank god Boras isnt keeping the stove cold until the new year again, last year’s offseason sucked
Is he on the plane?
Soto is the first domino. After he goes the deeper pockets knows their needs better and so the market opens for everyone not named Juan Soto.
Nationals will be last to interview him. It’ll be the quickest interview out of all 30 teams. Only two words will be spoken, “Welcome Home”. He signs with us for life for super cheap cuz he loves it here and all other teams are in complete shock of the Rizzo fleece that took place
At least that’s how it happened in my dream
Oh boy. Gotta love the annual tradition of using Toronto to drive up your price.
