City report: Trop can be fixed for Rays’ 2026 season for $55 million

It’s a tarp….
Why would they do this right before getting the new stadium built for a billion
This could have been prevented with a genuine laser-measured Weathertech Dome Liner.
So we won’t have a home for 2025…so why don’t we just play at a few minor league stadiums, Dunedin, Tampa, Clearwater, etc. build the new stadium faster, and then keep that $55M for someone like Juan Soto or Roki Sasaki?
So the rays are gone. When will they break the news that the new stadium won’t happen
I think we need to wait and see what Hurricane Sara does to it first (hopefully nothing; I’ve had enough thank you)
A pretty important part of the article :
“The big question is whether the city will want to spend that much for two seasons of use, given plans for a new stadium to be built and open in 2028, and how much of the $55 million will be covered by insurance.”
let’s look into getting a giant version of those tents they put on houses for pest infestation and throw that over the trop
If that’s the case, then just play in the minor league stadiums for the next few years. Use it to drum up interest in the team in places like Clearwater or Dunedin so when the new stadium is ready, people will be more excited.

Unfortunately this is not my creation. Found pic on Facebook from a highly-educated, well-respected structural engineer. Obviously.
