I’m not sure how many years Bohm has left on his contract but this seems like a pretty solid temporary fill for the Brewers at 3rd until Wilken is ready. (I’m assuming Ortiz moves to short and God-himself at 2nd Turang stays there).
Certainly his defense would need some work but with how much this team develops defense I imagine he could get some good tips from our staff. Could be a good hitter for us, not necessarily a crazy power hitter, but certainly a good bat a majority of the time especially after last season.
In order to get him it would likely be a trade for Williams (which the Phillies desperately need a solid closer and he is that). We could likely get Bohm and maybe a prospect. Thoughts?

I don’t hate it tbh. Idk his contract situation either but that obviously plays a big factor here if we are trading someone like Devin Williams.
Love it
DVR said on Rates and Barrels when the Phillies got eliminated that a Bohm for Williams trade would make sense for both sides and I don’t disagree with him.
UPDATE: “Bohm is arbitration-eligible for two more years and is scheduled to reach free agency at the conclusion of the 2026 campaign.”
100% on board with this.
With 2 more years of control, it would take more than a rental in Williams to get him.
Yes
“God himself at 2nd”
This explains the angels in our outfield…
Are we sure Wilken is the answer?
Bohm does seem like a fine stopgap.
IMO 1B is a much bigger concern right now.
It is the most glaring issue with our defense, *and* neither Bauers nor Hoskins has been productive enough offensively.
Moving Hoskins to DH and being a platoon 1B and having a better defensive 1B should be issue #1 in the offseason.
We have an honestly stupid number of SS prospects, Turang is a lock for 2B, and Ortiz is honestly going to be hard to replace at 3rd with how good he has been there.
I think if anything, I think Tyler Black is a *much* better option at 3B if you want to move Ortiz to SS. Not just defensively, Black is a vastly superior base runner, and has potential to be a pretty good power hitter – not to mention his plate discipline is absurdly good with one of the lowest strikeout rates in the MiLB.
Brewers tend not to trade for players that are knee deep in their arbitration years when dealing a player like Williams, preferring to get pre-arb guys like Ortiz, Adames, Contreras, Urias, Narvaez, etc if they are trying to get MLB ready talent. They especially target post-hype prospects that have struggled their first couple years in the league (guys that fall under this are Spencer Torkelson, Nolan Jones, Nolan Gorman, Nick Gonzales, Vidal Brujan, Josh Jung).
They try to get guys with 4-6 years of control left with only a few exceptions (Hunter Renfroe for instance, but that was more an opportunity to dump Bradley Jr) so I wouldn’t be too hopeful on Brewers trading for Bohm.
Bohm would be a decent option for a short-term solution at 3B while we wait to see what becomes of Wilken, Pratt, Made, Boeve etc.
Would be all for it tbh!
