Is this the first domino?
So it begins
Damn. The right move but I enjoyed Eller’s time here.
I wonder if we would’ve waited till TDL if we could’ve gotten more and not have to wait till 2027 for the payoff pick
Good trade. Smart that we are beginning the selling and tank now.
3rd + 5th is probably solid value for Eller in a vacuum, but the third being years away kinda sucks
Sad to see him go, but I get it.
I’ll miss Eller. He outplayed his cap hit, which is way more than people gave him credit for when he was acquired.
Only dude to fucking show up half the time. Sad, but at least they’re acknowledging this roster is ASS.
This one sucks. Sell high, I guess.
We will tear this roster down to the studs before we question Sully’s job.
Really enjoyed Lars here. We need the picks though. Who do we think is moved next?
So I guess we’re just at full on rebuild now. Eller was one of the few Pens performing game in and game out. If we’re going to blow off the season, might as well trade everyone for the future.
I’m surprised Dubas couldn’t have got a 2nd for how well he’s been this year.
Just realized, either someone had to go or go on waivers anyway with Nieto coming back after his conditioning and Poulin being called up.
Much rather see any kind of return than lose a guy for nothing
Gosh dang it I loved Eller
Aww…I liked Lars.
Eller was great. I was hoping they’d remove some dead weight first at least.
It has been a while since I was that mad for a trade. Damn he was a good player for us.
EDIT : I understand why, but I would’ve fired Sullivan way before doing this.
Maybe it’s market value but seems like a pretty weak return
Fucking hate this
RIP third line, best line. 🙁 I wasn’t expecting to like Eller as much as I did, but I appreciated how he was always really frank with the media about how the Pens were doing. If they shat the bed, he flat out said it and said what they needed to work on without generic “pucks in deep” phrases.
We’re officially Lars Sellers
Only a 3rd??? And helps the fuckin Caps of all teams??? Fuck this
getting rid of a 35 year old is a win, teams full of young guns now
Not surprised he got moved. Get assets on hand for him now and move on. Might have pulled a 2nd come the deadline but then I feel like it’s our luck if we wait and he gets hurt or just falls off a cliff. I also feel like the return is a touch less probably because they let him pick his spot. Purely speculation but I wouldn’t be surprised if he was open to being shipped back to the Caps. If so, I can respect that they’ll treat vets with respect like that.
