So it’s official now?

The coach explained that the team is planning on 11 more games, with eight remaining on the regular season schedule. As a result, he is mapping out a playoff path in which the Lions would earn the one seed and win Divisional and Championship Round games in order to appear in the Super Bowl.
"We've got 11 games left here and we're gonna need him for every one of those," Campbell said of Smith. "Every time we get closer to the end, they get more critical. I just felt like it was the right thing to do, and then yes, I'm excited to get him going. I think he's gonna be an excellent addition for us. I think he brings a complimentary piece for us and our d-line and I'm excited to see him play for us."

  1. The 1 seed is huge. Our remaining schedule are all important games pretty much.

That extra bye would be a huge bonus seeing as ours was only a few weeks into the season.

  2. One cool little footnote to adding Za’darius is that in an interview, Paschal mentioned that Za’darius played with his older brother at the University of Kentucky (2012-2013). All three played there. So if you look at the Houston game broadcast footage you will see a couple times where it looks like Za’darius is coaching up the Dline on the sidelines. But if you look closely he is specifically coaching up Josh. Pretty awesome that we are getting a Pro Bowl caliber player that has vested interest in seeing one of our young players get better.
