11. Sheldon Rankins was done last season but the Bengals were blinded by the fact that he whipped the Bengals bad guards when they played the Texans last season. He had 6 total sacks last season and 3 came in the game versus the Bengals 😐. Chalk up another one to going cheap in the scouting department.

20. The defense is too "Vanilla" there's No mystery, you know who's going to blitz, and you know who's going to play coverage.
    They don't disguise anything well.
    When you don't have the talent on defense you have to keep quarterbacks guessing, and the Bengals coaching staff doesn't have the creativity to do so.

26. The bottom line is the Bengals front office are one of the biggest laughing stocks in the league. They are cheap and wasting JoeyB's prime years. Winning for Katie and Company is fleecing fans for profit. They are sitting on there butts counting the dollars that have been made in the last five years. They will not do anything more until the seats start emptying out again. When Burrow leaves, if you're smart you will go with him and never look back. If they can't win one with #9 they never will.

31. 50 + Year Bengals Fan. First Game at Nippert Field in 1968. Grew up watching team with Father. Seems like Bengals have consistently underperformed since Paul Brown passed. Given that this is a multi-billion dollar business I don't buy the cash flow arguments. Any business with that kind of revenue has access to all kinds of lines of credit to smooth out cash flows. If the Brown Family is just using this team as a cash cow- why can't we force a sell to a public corporation like the Green Bay Model. Fan Base certainly deserve better than this.

34. In the projected top 100 free agents over the last offseason going into this one Rankin was ranked near the bottom. Is that not sort of a clue? Zach Moss was low, a backup from Indy, a team not supposed to he nearly as good as Cincinnati, Stone was to replace Scott, the mistake from the year before, and now Stone has become the 2024 mistake of the same position. Vonn Bell is not what he use to be but was cheap for a year and sort of a fan favorite and credit for getting Hendrickson to come to Cincinnati. Gesicki was signed to replace the mistake of Irv Smith compounded by the re-signing of career underachieving veteran Drew Sample, the career depth person who occasionally blocks, and was also drafted by Cincinnati five plus years ago and can't win the starting TE job. Trent Brown came with a stern warning that at 6'8" and 380 pounds if he moves he gets hurt and got a knee injury. This is all before talking about YEARS of continued draft busts. What about franchise tag busts? Did keeping Tee Higgins help? Like Trent Brown, he needs to stop moving, especially in practices now, he gets the Allen Iverson award as "we are talking about practice." He wants a long term what? What is your favorite draft bust just for fun? There are so many to choose from in the last five years alone. A 16 year head coach in Marvin Lewis that wrecked the culture of this franchise. Who hired him as a head coach after he left? Any guesses? The drafts stunk then as well. Of course, they blamed Andy Dalton then. Now they have a franchise QB in Joe Burrow, you can't blame him so what else is wrong? Cheap, old fashioned values and ideas, ignoring good free agents because Papa Paul Brown would have. Did they have free agents then? Had an Icky shuffle for a year. What is the constant on this team? It is a compounding of the same ignorant thought processes that rather than adapt to today it simply says "we just don't do it that way, put that checkbook away." Well, might include fans in all this stupidity because they keep on showing up to another crappy game by a filthy river. The filth in that river is about like the filth in that stadium and neither has gotten better or even learned anything since this rat pack moved to town in the late 1960s. Their history is a couple Hall of Famers, Anthony Munoz and Ken Riley. Took Riley 40 years to get in via gift. Wonderful names from the past like Bob Trumpy. 37. Drafting under the Tobin Era has been an absolute nightmare!! Take out the top 10 picks and he’s missing on 85% of his picks !! There was a chart I seen on Twitter n only 3 teams have drafted worse than the bengals over the last 10 years!! Not counting free picks like Burrow n Chase who any team would have drafted at that spot in the draft. Tobin wld have been fired after year 2 if our owner was serious about winning !!!
