6 General Manager Candidates For The New York Jets!

I wanted to bring up 6 General Manager candidates that could make sense for the New York Jets. Joe Douglas seems as though he is not going to be brought back on a new contract so the Jets have an opportunity for a clean slate this off-season. The List includes:
– Kansas City Chiefs Assistant GM Mike Borganzi
– Buffalo Bills Director Of Player Personal Terrance Gray
– Former GM of The Chiefs and Browns, John Dorsey
– Detroit Lions Assistant GM Ray Agnew
– Tampa Bay Buccaneers Asst GM Mike Greenberg
– Indianapolis Colts Assistant GM Ed Dodds

  1. The KC Chiefs get a lot of refs calls. NFL wants a three-peat for sure…
We haven't had much of a integrated team for about 15 years. We suck and should try it. Nothing to lose at this point.
Of course it's not the only solution but could blend some different skill sets and be rewarding.

  2. As long as Woody Johnson is still the owner of the NY Jets we would not have a great GM just because Woody likes to overwrite their decisions and do whatever comes out of his ass. The problem are not the GM's nor the coaches, the problem is the ownership and as long as the Johnsons and company are still in charge the Jets will not go anywhere

  3. Good video. I would love John Dorsey as president of football ops to act as a buffer between the Johnsons and the GM/coaches. A guy with the track record to demand respect. Some guys I'd be interested in are:
    1. John Spytek, asst. GM Bucs. If Greenberg is the finance guy, Spytek is the talent evaluation guy. Hell, I'd try to get both as a bundled package if possible.
    2. Will McClay, VP of Player Personnel , Cowboys – basically the real Cowboys GM but without the title, you can say a lot about the Cowboys but being bad drafters isn't one of them. maybe he gets tired of living under Jerry's thumb.
    3. Trey Brown, Senior Personnel Executive, Bengals – the Bengals personnel dept. is so small, you can fit all of them in an Uber XL. Those guys take on multiple roles and do them well with limited resources. Now imagine a guy who's basically done the job of 2 to 3 ppl for years but with some Johnson & Johnson money behind him and a well sized personnel group.

  4. Does anyone believe that Woody will let the next GM do his thing without meddling
    doesn't matter who it is
If they can't have full control to build hire a HC and staff without Woody lurking to put his two cents in as much as i like Aaron Glenn please no more first time HCs it might work for other teams but not with this owner i believe they need a director of operations who hires the GM not clueless woody or chris johnson

  5. If you ask most Bills fans, they will say Terry Pegula is not a good owner. He got lucky and made two great hires in Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott and he’s smart enough to let them do their thing and just sign the checks. He also owns the hockey team, the Buffalo Sabres, and if you ask those fans they all hate him. His finger prints are all over that team and they’re one of the worst ran teams in sports. Their playoff drought is the exact same length as ours. Honestly they are the NY Jets of the NHL

  6. at this moment in time, i'm desperate……. if it were me my first call would be to the "Great Wizard" Ozzie Newsome, i'd want to see if he wants back in….. even if he doesn't want to be a GM again, at least maybe he could be a Consultant/ Advisor or Team President. Whatever capacity i can get him at, he's definitely my first call….. or he might be able to just point me in the right direction to the next GM…

  7. The coaching is more important than the GM. But the GM is essential. He got the coach wrong, and that's the reason why our team hasn't won more games. Our expectations are because he's done a good job increasing the talent of the roster. The record is due to horrible coaching. Which teams we lost to have better rosters than ours?

  8. This might be unpopular but, they should stick with JD. This team needs some sort of continuity. Every 3 years is complete purge. Starting from scratch veering into the unknown since like forever is horrible. I would like for the owner to want to keep JD and JD respond with only if he’s in total control of football operations. Just my opinion.

  9. Ian… 😮‍💨 You live in Tampa, FL just become a Bucaneers fan. Why are you doing this to yourself? We'll forgive you, dude, we understand. Don't do this to yourself. Choose happiness over this torture you see us going thru. At least one person makes it out. I'll be happy. Please Ian 😔

  10. A list of candidates that might be good is fine. The more pertinent question would likely be; which possible candidates would be interested in a less than ideal situation and actually join the Jets. Do you think anyone on this list or in addition to this list, would actually join the Jets. Would anyone that has other opportunities, see the Jets as the best destination?

  11. Hi Ian here's the perfect example how hiring anyone can be a risk John Idzik he was part of the Superbowl winning Seattle Seahawks he was there for all the drafts that developed the Legion of Boom and looked liked a Billion Bucks he came to the Jets and couldn't GM his way out of a paper bag and was a Dollar Tree GM

  12. The problem with hiring an asst GM is you never know how much of their input went into building their current team. Like Agnew sounds great but who knows. Getting the right GM is everything. They need to finally find a good GM. I wouldn’t mind Dorsey – he is proven unlike the asst GM’s

  13. I don't think Mr. Woody wants someone autonomous in the GM job…He wants someone who gives the owner what he wants. If there is any argument, Woody wins!
