[Wilson] Nico Collins was ready to go and healthy last week. Team made decision to hold him out based on big picture, medical, etc.

  1. Colts loss meant that Texans still hold a 3 (?) game lead over them. Looks like they’re just trying to win the division instead of better AFC seeding

Feel like at the very least they could’ve had him on a limited snap count or in pads and have him play in the 4th quarter like an in case of emergency break glass

  2. Honestly Metchie had a fantastic game! Nico wasn’t our issue and if CJ makes 1 throw better we do win that game.

  3. If he was ready to go he should play. Playoff seeding is extremely important because we’ve never won a road playoff game and haven’t even been particularly close yet. I hate the mindset of this team right now.

  4. People saying wr’s weren’t this issue…when it was 3rd and 6 to win basically, sure could’ve used Diggs or some other sure hands on a crosser at line to gain. All the vet wr’s that went for a 5th…not getting one was ridiculous after Diggs went down. I could be totally wrong, but that’s my take as someone who watches a ton of ball.

Sucks so bad, that awesome Nico play cost us at least 2 wins. No one’s fault I suppose, just how this season is going. We’ll be fine and none of it will matter if we win wild card game (if we get it).

  5. We’ve lost close games to good teams. During those losses, we were missing key players. With everyone healthy, and the o line hopefully fixing themselves, I think we’ll be ready for the playoffs. Hopefully.

  6. Wonder if this was just to move the gambling line. I’m still shocked that we ever were leading in this game, let alone have a chance to win. I’m chugging Doom-Aid right now. 20+ years of this shit and we always fucking suck

  7. I love tank dell to death but there where a few throws I thought where 100% gonna be a catch. I hope what ever is going around gets shaken off, especially in the second half. It’s like the fire died after half time.

  8. Nico probably would have pushed us over the top and knowing that shit really fucking bothers me.

I understand their reasoning – I’m just disgusted by it.

  9. He should have played. He needs real game reps to heat up and get back in form. Even coming back cold he would have helped.

Metchie showed he could be #3 behind Nico and Tank. Give that air raid offense.

  10. I’d have loved to have seen Nico back, but the Texans didn’t need him to win this game. They went up 23-7 then took their foot off the gas because of that 1st Stroud INT. INTs sometimes happen. They need to trust Stroud, stop wasting downs (with bad run calls and slow developing pass plays), and concentrate—not on eating clock—but on continuing to move the chains once they have a lead. Enough TDs to win games will come with that mentality.

  11. This is not something I love operationally…maybe play him but not have him do deep routes that affect his hammy. But the threat of Nico would have been a major advantage. We probably win this game with him in the lineup.

  12. 100% agree. That was the best move long term. Give him that extra rest. We have the division lead. That’s the most important thing.

  13. Then he wasn’t really 100% ready to go. Because if he was, then he should play. Just like every other guy on the team.

Bad decision by DeMeco and/or Nick.

Now, if this is BS, and he wasn’t 100% ready to go, why say this?

  14. Chess not checkers. I get it. No one expected a win vs the lions. But we need to start winning again. This is some bullshit.

  15. Fucking Bullshit. He could get hurt in literally any game from now to the end of his career. The line of reasoning is silly. Its a 17 game season. That’s all you get. EVERY game matters. If he can go, let him go!

  16. Hind sight is 20/20. Imagine if he played and he reinjured his hamstring. The conversations being had right now would be totally different. The exact opposite infact
