Oilers slappy play around opponents net almost lost them another one as opposed to jets clean crisp goal scoring plays racking up easy wins.

Oilers fan here. That McDavid goal, was it a trip, a slewfoot or was he just playing the puck? I've seen similar plays that's been both calls and non-calls. Can somebody with knowledge of the rule book explain?
I'm starting to get worried about Canucksnate, someone should do a welfare check on him soon. I think that 7-3 pounding brought back some bad memories of losing in the playoffs last year
