DeMeco Ryans

  1. I agree with the sentiment but calling two runs up the middle on 1st & 30 just seems like giving up on the drive and burning clock.

  2. Look, I love Demeco Ryans and I wouldn’t want anyone else coaching this team, but we have the talent. We are a proven playoff caliber team with a win against a current 8-2 Bills. We had the talent to go up 23-7 against (imo) the best team in football in the Lions. We have the right players to compete with the best.

But for the love of god, talent can only carry you so much if they aren’t being used correctly. I don’t know how you can look at a performance like we had against the Lions and not think “maybe there’s something wrong with how we adjust after holding leads”. Slowik’s incessant need to run the ball and Demeco’s conservativeness cost us the game as much as Stroud’s poor interceptions. I’m sick and tired of hearing that we need to execute better when we executed well enough to intercept a QB 5 times and had a 16 point lead.

  3. I get why DeMeco isn’t tripping. He brought Slowik onboard… so Bobby is gonna get the benefit of the doubt for now.

  4. I feel like this quote is on repeat every week. Keep blaming the players and their execution week in and week out to protect your friend from criticism and you’re going to lose the locker room real quick.

  5. 4th and 4 on the final drive you just have to go for that considering a fg is 58 yards. And that’s the difference between this team and others, we play to not lose instead of playing to win. You get that first down it’s likely game over.

  6. I would like to retort that when in the first 9 weeks of the season you have shown consistently you can’t do certain things and you keep trying to do them, unsuccessfully, it’s a little about the play calling. Probably more about not coaching these guys up enough to execute.

  7. Let’s say it is the players just not executing. Ultimately, who does that fall on if the players are consistently not executing? You picked the players! It’s your responsibility to get them to execute!

  8. I had no hope in this game, I assumed we would’ve been blown out.

They did incredible to stop the lions offense.

But damn man, wtf is wrong with the offense??

Something has to change, and it ain’t the defense problem

  9. Not an untrue statement…but it completely downplays the fact that the play calling has been mediocre to terrible. It’s so sad and frustrating watching other teams with less talent reel off play after creative play.

  10. IDK what it is, but this offense always feels like a clunky, disjointed mess outside of 2 minute drills…

Like, everything is harder than it needs to be, even checkdowns feel like they’re always in a tight window… Something isn’t working, idk what it is as I’m just some idiot on a couch, but it feels like literally every single thing has to go right for a play to MAYBE work out ok… if even one thing goes wrong then it’s an incomplete or a stuffed run…

  11. Demeco is right. EX: Stroud running a route for a TD when we’re down to the Jets in the 4th Quarter with little time left on the clock was the wrong way for him to execute that play. He should have thrown the ball instead of being a WR. Totally on the player. /s
