Carl is back! 😍
Will add this on because Bell didn’t touch on it but Kai Correa also got a promotion to director of defense, baserunning, and strategy
The last couple of years in the Guardians org, you can see that they’ve definitely been trying to change up how they approach offense. They’ve been prioritizing teaching players to pull the ball in the air, and have added some of those types to the organization in recent years as well (Manzardo, Brito, Bazzana, etc).
To me it makes sense that they’d want to promote the guy who’s been in charge of overseeing it to the majors
Thank god Carl Willis is staying. I was really worried he was going to bounce.
Great news across the board
Yesss at Carl.
Awesome that Carl is back and Albernaz is getting some flowers. Don’t know a ton about Fink but I think it was clear Valaika wasn’t working
Carl Power Rankings: 1. Carl Willis 2. Carl Winslow 3. All other Carls
Now I know who to bitch about when the offense is bad
The Cleveland Guardians have literally never gotten a hit under Grant Fink. Fire him now /s
>Carl Willis is back
😮💨
Reading the MVP Machine (great book pick it up if you’re in the mood for a crunchy baseball read) and based on how that book discusses the approach of farm systems’ philosophies being coached to all minor leaguers, I like promoting the Minor League Hitting Coordinator to the major league hitting coach.
Hopefully, Fink will have a more forward looking hitting strategy. We also have a super young team, and the guys buy into his vision. I wonder how old heads will react.
I absolutely thought for a fact Tito was going to steal Carl Willis from this team
Holy shit, I thought Carl was gonna retire. I thought I heard that somewhere
