It’s PFF, you know how it works.
If they grade my player bad, they’re trash and just nerds with numbers.
If they grade my player well, they’re the most dedicated analytical team in sports and credible data driven organization.
Penalties?
I honestly never thought I’d see a Trevor penning playing well post
Honestly he has been playing quite well this season. Our run heavy offense really helps him out.
It at least proves he isn’t the biggest liability in the line and that he is capable of improving, albeit not as quickly as we all hoped.
Also means we don’t have to spend another first round pick on a tackle next year.
It was against the falcons pass rush, though. so take that with a grain of salt
Gotta give praise when it’s due
#BIG P!
Wow! I was excited to see this post because I’ve heard such negativity and had began to think he was a bust. They say it takes three years for a player to truly develop look at players that Saints have let go that have gone on to be great players somewhere else like Rob Ninkovich. Trey Henderson. They say it is better to get rid of someone too early than too late, but sometimes the Saints have not been patient enough and have developed players for other teams the one two punch of Alvin Kamara with Mark Ingram was exciting to see. Next thing we know he is shipped off to another team Reggie Bush we thought he would never be able to run between the tackles and was only used in certain types of plays. He never had more than 581 yards Rushing with us his first year in Miami. He rushed for 1086yards. It seemed like Payton‘s coaching style. He always wanted running back by committee. And that is another story. I’m glad to see that Penning is starting to develop.
Good on you, Trev. I’m happy to eat crow. Go ahead and keep proving I was wrong about you, please.
Keep growing big man. I can’t wait until the saints draft another top tier Lineman and DE. Could penning play DE?
I know everyone has said this already, but he’s been solid this year. Some dumb flags especially early on. But, again, he is truly good on the run blocking plays. I mean he just bullies people on the D-Line and plays with some real intensity. His pass blocking has gone from awful, to okay, although maybe inconsistent. That’s way better than years prior though
Amazing what some light stretching can do.
