Not really surprising. His talent wasn’t his issue, so if other teams think that the Sox environment was holding him back I’d imagine they would like to see if they can fix him. Not like he’ll cost much.
Makes sense. It’s a very thin 3B market.
He would ironically be a great low risk high reward pick up for a ranking team like us lol. Throw in an injury history? 2025 moncada is a prime Rick Hahn FA target
I don’t see it happening, but if Moncada turns into an all star caliber player next year I’m going to lose my fucking mind.
Cubs are the best fit
They were the only team above .500 with a negative team WAR at 3B. He’s above average defensively, draws walks, and has gap to gap power. He has an injury history and will be cheap.
Cubs are where my money is at. Sures up their infield, and adds at least average offensive output for a potential bargain.
Cool, who’s giving up the best prospects?
There are 5+ dumb GMs
Good luck
I know we all hate Moncada and his work ethic but it’s really gonna be a similar thing with Kopech. A new team with structure and will hold him accountable can probably turn him into the Moncada we used to know
Yeah in which countries ? Korea, Mexico, Japan, Dominican and Cuba ?
Interest as a player or mascot?
What, like to get paid money to play an infield position? And miss like 100 games a season?
I wonder what kind of incentives will be in these deals.
5+ teams gonna be disappointed

I’m a Giants fan, secondarily, and as their unofficial GM, I’m asking.
The dude can’t even play 80 games, let alone 162.
He’s shown signs (an entire season) of being good before, he’ll be dirt cheap, desperate to stay in MLB, and you’re banking that the White Sox organization had no idea what it was doing with him, which is a good bet for a team that lost 120 games in 2024. Not surprising some teams will take a flyer on him.

How many of those 5 are in South Korea or Japan?
