GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Red Wings (11.13.24) | Malkin Honored for 500th Goal
Tonight’s contest against the visiting Detroit Red Wings began with a ceremony honoring Evgeni Malkin for scoring 500 NHL goals. Geno’s family joined him on the ice and his teammates presented him with gifts. Malkin is the third member of the Penguins to achieve this feat. While the 1st period featured a lot of back-and-forth action, no goals were scored. The Red Wings had a strong start in the 2d frame, with two goals scored by Berggren and Kane. These were quickly answered by Bryan Rust and Anthony Beauvillier, tying the score at 2-2. With the fight still on, both teams played a strong next 20 minutes, but needed overtime to settle things. The final goal of the night was netted by Edvinsson, giving the Red Wings a 3-2 win in overtime.

Great game pens never fail to disappoint with everything playing, trading and rebuilding this team
Good move and Goal by Rusty. Nice pass by Pettersson to Beauvillier for the goal. Decent highlights. To bad we lost the extra point. Regardless, LETS GO.
