I played 21 with him a few times at the 24HR fitness in midtown. This was right before he signed with a team in Israel. NBA players are just on another planet. I remember he shot his free throws from half court and he didn’t miss.

This is the Rockets team I grew up with. Battier, Chuck Hayes, Landry, Luis Scola, Dikembe, Brooks, Rafer. I’ll always remember the ‘others’. Never forgot Artest! The win streak and finally advancing to the second round after two first round exits to the Jazz. Oh man I get goosebumps thinking about these days. Staying up late on school nights to watch the western conference TNT games, so many epic match ups.
I remember drafting Rudy Gay a year after Luther & thinking, “What an amazing combo they could be!”.
Sadly, we traded Rudy for Shane Battier & thus the Gay Head connection was never a thing. 😏
I remember the dude, very good shooter, he had a nice high arch shooting form.
he was the rockets j.r smith atleast in my 9 yr old head at the time.
I remember that he was an okay shooter, didn’t remember him having hops like this with the team.
