People crack jokes about culture in NFL teams alot, but this team has one of the most unreal cultures I’ve ever seen.
This is why talking heads need to stand down. The thing that strikes me the most about all the praise the Lions are getting is when it comes from players and coaches. That’s how I know it’s real.
Man, the coordinators press conference was great today. Fipp was on an all-time heater today.
Is he wrong?
The coaching staff is always talking about how good Goff is at winning and also how he handles adversity. They picked him for a reason, and they wouldn’t trade away Matt Stafford for no reason
So many morons out there in football subs talking shit about JG when he’s the one who led the Lions to that victory. Everyone did their part, but he led the way.
And the Lions see that and love him for it.
Is there a site that has statistics by half? I would like to compare his performance between the first and second halves.
It was a bad game and we knew it was going to be a rough one going in. Houston is a very tough team to beat. I’m just glad we won and onto the Jags
Seriously I watch SO much NFL and have for decades and I see games like this even with good teams and you almost always see the point where they just resign themselves to the fact where it isn’t their week. Typically you see them start sniping on the sidelines like in SF last week, you see the punching and shoving and dumb penalties after the whistle.
The most impressive thing for me was there was NONE of that. No blame, no doubt, no frustration aimed at each other, just head down and grinding, every player, both sides of the ball. This team knows who they are you could see they truly believed they were the best team on that field if they weren’t playing like it and it showed. It was awesome.
I keep going back to that opening press conference Campbell had, where people laughed cause he kinda sounded like a meathead but that was what he created. Don’t care if we have one ass cheek and three toes we will beat you down, we will drag you out to the deep water and drown you – that is exactly who this team is. You have to kill them to beat them.
I just want everybody to know that after INT #3, I said to switch Hooker in because Goff was having an off day and didn’t want his confidence destroyed anymore.
I am pleased to announce that it is one week later, and my dumbass is still employed by the Army while the Lions staff are still banking millions being smarter than me.
Tune in Sunday for my next armchair Head Coach take!
I keep tellin’ people. Dude has been to the show. He knows what it takes to get there and he wants another shot at the big time. I like Goff so much, it’s like Stafford never left. He’s a Lion through and through and if he wins the SB as a Lion he’ll never buy a drink in the state of Michigan again.
These guys cannot stop trying to give each other all the credit. A DC giving props to a 5 interception QB after holding a team scoreless in the second half. It’s just unreal. Savor it boys. We are truly witnessing something once in a generation/special.
