Ok so he currentally sits at 999 points with 658 games played meaning it would just take over 1300 if he keeps his pace to reach the 2000 point mark.

Probably not this season. He’s not even halfway there
Yes.
I fully expect him to end his career second to Gretzky in points. In short: yes.
Yes he could, but would need good health for the next several years to do so. I would say it’s fairly unlikely due to age, injuries, teams getting better, but possible? Yes.
He’s only 27. I’d be genuinely surprised if he didn’t exceed 2000 points.
He’s played about 8 seasons worth of 82 games and got there. He’s 27, and another 8 seasons of this production would put him at 35. I say if he plays to 38 with relatively good health he can get there
Could he? Yes, but he needs to avoid injuries. Crosby probably comes close without his, stands to reason McDavid would barring catastrophic a fall off due to the aging curve earlier than expected.
Scoring keeps going up and McDavid is a beast. As long as Edmonton surrounds him with decent enough talent I think he has a good chance. I bet he falls a bit short still but it’ll be close if he stays healthy.
I expect him to be playing for another decade at a minimum, barring injuries. He has every chance at being #2 in points
The league is only getting more watered down and turning into a video game while he is getting better.
The better question is whether he will hit 2000 or get a Stanley Cup first?!
He for sure could. But he’d need to stay healthy and have a long prime while still being pretty good as he starts to age out a bit.
Definitely
It would be tough, but I think he could pull it off this season. He just needs to average something like 20 points a game and he’ll get there.
I don’t think it’s a lock, but if he can stay healthy and play nearly 80 games over the next decade, I’d go so far as to say it’s highly likely
He can do whatever he wants
Lemieux had 1723 in 915 games. Scary ot think what the would have done without major back problems all hsi career and cancer and coming abck from retirement and still putting 76 in 45 games adn 91 pts in 66 games
Without injuries he would ahve the records for most poinst, most goals and probably 2-3 cups more.
after his second year he was never even 80% healthy and a;; throughout his career.
And Lemieux played when goalies got way better than wayne first 6-7 years. and the dead puck era and clutch and grab.
Imagine lemieux with all the training and new skates and hockey stick. 100 goal season for sure
Like most sports its all about his health. Healthy, I think so.
I don’t think anyone will ever beat the great ones record but yeah he will hit 2000
I have absolutely zero doubts he’ll achieve the feat of 2000 points, if not better. It’s unfortunate however we’ll never see McDavid raise a Stanley cup. He’ll easily retire the best player with no cups. Sadly the Oilers won’t even win a cup again in any of our lifetimes. We had our chance but it’s joever for da by’s.
