  1. The Devils will trade Jake Allen along with Nathan Bastian, Nolan Foote, Topias Vilen, and a 2026 7th-rounder to the Canadiens for Cayden Primeau, so Cayden will be the backup to Jakob Markstrom in New Jersey.

  2. Montembeault has poor fundamentals, inconsistent play, cannot steal games, is a journeyman and no more,
Missing out on Askarov and extending a journeyman was the kiss of death for the Habs.
Primeau is said to be a nervous wreck and unlike Glenn Hall cannot play around it.
Dobes might be a short term upgrade but again is very inexperienced.

  3. Another top 5 draft pick is the story here …Only way to build a team in this large league …A good goalie would prevent proper stocking …Trading for one would cut off development of the goalies in the Habs system …When we are up to playoff level our tender's will be there also …

  4. In Montreal, I feel that the defence needs more seasoning in Lavelle. We need more experienced D men in Montreal to teach the kids. It’s being pushed a little too hard. This stuff takes time. People don’t realize that you cannot turn around a team in three years only. It takes time people. The fans are pushing management to do stupid shit as they always do in Montreal. Do it with patience and do it right. If we have patience, it will benefit us. Big picture people, big picture. Come on big picture. Forget this immediate shit. Big picture. And please, francophone fans stop the French bullshit. I get that you’re proud of French, but this is a world league not a French versus English, Protestant versus Catholic league anymore. That’s been gone for 70 years. Modernize will you. I think that the French fans hold a lot of responsibility when it comes to Habs failures. Everybody is too woke to say that, but I am not. I live and die by the Montréal Canadiens. I want the best for them no matter what. French or not.

  5. I see Monty staying with Mtl, he needs someone pushing him to stay sharp. Monty know Primeau is NO threat and has relaxed. He's got his contract and he knows he's the number 1 goalie for Montreal, no matter what.

Management need to get a solid back-up goaltender to push Monty to increase his 'cat-like reflexes' again.

With Mtl's young inexperienced defense they panic easily knowing that Primeau won't stop a beachball and Monty is not playing up to his own level.

What happens??? Opposing teams have long runs in Montreal's zone taking pot shots from everywhere on the goal.

This limits Montreal's offense and the team falls behind in games.
