Should The New York Jets HIRE A President Of Football Operations? | Off-Season 2025

Should Woody and Chris Johnson look to shake up the front office by hiring a president of Football Operations? Someone who can oversee the entire operation and be able to put together the full picture a little easier than the typical ownership group? As always..Go Jets!

  1. It doesn't make sense because in essence the president of football operations is a person who is instead of the owner, the owner does nothing and leaves everything to this person, which would work for owners who are hands off. I don't see the Johnson's paying anyone for that role since they are going to want to have some input anyway, might as well just have a General manager, the Johnsons can be like this is our vision of what we want our team to look like and it will be up to the general manager to execute it A football operations guy is more like for owners that acknowledge I don't know anything about football you're the expert do what's best

  2. A guy named Hymie Elhai is currently team president and he helped hire Joe D. It looks like he has a lot of marketing responsibilities beyond football. The Jets need a strictly-football guy to oversee all on-the-field stuff. But I don't think they will do it.

  3. If Woody and Christopher bend the knee and apologize to Belichick for embarrassing him after the napkin resignation he will take the GM and coaching job for two reasons. He wants to surpass Shula's win record and he'll get his revenge on Robert Kraft in the worst way…think about it.

  4. I like the idea of a president of football ops with a say or full control of GM and coach. If Rodgers comes back next year the Jets project maybe have better candidates after he is done. I still like and root for Rodgers, but its been tough to watch.

  5. I like the idea of having a president of footbal ops that picks the gm then picks the coach. I would really like to see a more streamline vison for the team. Ideally the Johnsons would be alittle more hands off.

  6. The front office in the NYJ is just there to make money. They aren’t here to win games or compete. Very much like the Yankees doesn’t matter what the team does. People will go out and spend money. Until fans stop going and stop spending money on the team nothing will happen.

  7. as a long time fan of the Jets…. i'm desperate, so let's try anything at this point…. a Team President would very much be a wise move….. the further away Woody is to being hands on, the better it is for the team…

  8. One of the biggest reasons the Jets have failed so miserably the last decade plus (really since Woody enacted this process) is their absolutely ridiculous organizational structure. The one Woody claims “works” for the Jets. I don’t know what his definite working is, selling some Hassan Reddick jerseys? This idiotic org chart where the GM and coach report to Woody (or Little Woody Chris Johnson) independently. Asinine. Hire a GM and let him run everything football related. Look at other teams to see how they do things and how they DO NOT do things (the Jets way) and get it together. Woody has owned the team 25 years!!!! How is this inability to hire a staff still plaguing this mickey house operation?

  9. They need someone that can stop woody at the door and say "No, I got this." and then take care of GM and HC issues. Woody has ruined his own team too many times. I feel like we are the Cowboys without any wins.

  10. the way I remember it , W.J. hired NFL 'experts' one time to hire new Jet leadership… ( McCagnan ? ). and wasn't. J.D. & Salah a very popular pick , both media & fans ??? their W /L. record ??

  11. Man how long we going to to keep crying about our jets ,I just watch the games if they win I’m happy if they lose Sam ole jets no crying yelling complaining anymore I’m all out of anger and rage with this shitty ass team they took everything out of me I have nothing else left in me I’m numb with this team I have nomore fight left

  12. Without even seeing the whole video, the answer is yes. Absolutely yes. The less the Johnsons are involved, the better. Let him be the guy that keeps them at bay and be the guy the GM/coaches have to answer to but also acts as a resource to go to. Get me Ken Dorsey to do it to add some legitimacy to the job so good candidates don't just balk at the idea of dealing with the Johnsons.

  13. This needs the right person. Parcells did this and it didnt work, i think twnnembaum did tkos w miami. The thing is that woody wont do this , he wants that power.

  14. GM AR is okay with a President of Football Operations as long as he reports to AR and understands that the Jets will continue to run the prehistoric Hackett offense.

  15. If Woody can't hire a good GM what makes you think he can hire a good president of football operations? As long as this guy owns the team all we can do is hope to get lucky.

  16. President Trump was said by Steven A Smith wanted to buy the Bills back in 2014. Smith said his friend Donald Trump said if they don't allow me to buy the Bills I am going to run for president. Who are they I don't know but if Trump was going to have any thing to do with Johnson it would be buying the Jets. The casinos may have stopped that. Saying that If President Trump can't buy a NFL team due to owning casinos then Johnson being an owner should not be allowed to work for someone who owns casinos. If Johnson does except being the ambassador again the NFL should force him to sell the team .
