  1. shocker that NYR plays significantly better after reuniting the successful lines and pairs, especially Miller/Fox.

step #2 is to stop playing Lindgren and Trouba in high-leverage situations, especially high-leverage defensive situations. they are absolutely not the reliable defensive defensemen of this team. The Sharks had 27 shots in the game and 13 of them came in Lindgren/Trouba’s minutes, including 11 at even strength

  2. Really hope it was just precautionary but even if it didn’t look like “big’ contact, any contact to the head when you don’t expect it/see it coming is usually where things get dicey.

  3. folks, the next stretch of games are gonna be fun. Ya know what they are?

    Joe: What are they?

    Sam: Rangers Morning!

Me: Uh Sam, it’s **Rangers After Dark!**

Sam: Excuse me, **Rangers After Dark**

  4. another game of me feeling vindicated as hell about my from the couch take, since the last part of the regular season last year if not longer but absolutely for sure in our series against the panthers, of play zac jones he rocks

he indeed rocks he rocks the fuck outta my socks

  5. Hard to be happy about the win and Zibby getting out of his slump when you’re worried about 72.

  6. Fuck man I really hope Chytil is okay, really hope they’re just playing it safe since they had a lead and a 3 day break coming up.

  7. I hope Chytil is ok. Also for all the negativity about this team we see online did you guys know this team is on pace to break the Rangers single season points record.

  8. Welp I’m glad they won, and I hope Chytil is alright. He’s too good a player to lose for an extended period of time. Mika woke up, if even for a moment, now we just need him to wake all the way up. Hopefully tonight gets some of that monkey off his back and he’ll come back to normal. Also I’d like this team to keep the same energy against the better teams in the league? Please and thank you.

    See you Sunday.

  9. View from the 300s:

First and foremost, hope Fil is ok. The contact with Miller wasn’t that crazy. It’s concerning that something like that can knock him out of a game, but really hoping it was out of precaution.

Second. Fox-miller, Schneider-Jones were good tn, at least with the eye test (haven’t looked at anything post-game yet). Lindgren – Trouba went about how you’d expect it—struggled to move the puck out of the defensive zone and killed any opportunities on offense.

Mika had a good game? Looked engaged, had a few scoring opportunities, one that he capitalized on (and didn’t even look happy or relieved lmfao) dude is going through it, but I thought he had a good game tonight.

Cuylle a consistent bright spot. 4th line has been great—I love Vesey. Tro looks better riding Bread’s coat tails, to no one’s surprise.

Overall, we played probably 20 min of great hockey tn, and that’s all it really took. Good teams beat bad teams, even when they’re not at their best, so I’m going to walk away feeling positive tonight. Would love to see us do this to a playoff team, but time will tell. For now, we continue to win games we should, which does matter.

ETA: No Zib-Kreider hug tn. Trouble in paradise? 😉

  10. Vinny Gabagool in the Lockeroom: “We’re with the ~~Vipers!~~ Sharks”

    Mika: “Woah!!! Take it Easy!”

  11. We’ll know by Saturday or Sunday whether Fil is gonna be okay or not. If he takes the flight with the team for the Canada road trip, it’s most likely not concussion related and he’ll probably not be out for much time. If he doesn’t take the flight that’s a bad sign, especially with concussion history.

But to be honest, that wasn’t a particularly big hit, you see accidents like that fairly often and usually everyone is okay. The fact it took him out is worrying. If it wasn’t this though it would have been a hit by an opponents defenseman at some point. It’s just inevitable you’re going to get hit in hockey. Hope they were just taking an abundance of caution

  12. Don’t let this team fool you . They just beat the worst team in the league by 1 . They beat up on the bottom feeders and get dog walked by the contenders.

  13. Why have the devils *still* played so many more games than everyone else? We’re over a month into the season. I’m sick of seeing them in first

  14. Obviously we all hope Chytil is OK. But he cant be counted on to stay healthy and is a critical part of the roster.

  15. Why is this sub acting like mikas goal was some game winning goal that won them the cup? Am I glad he finally didn’t something productive? Yeah of course. do I think he is now magically out of his slump. Hell no, he is streaky as hell and he needs to play well in several consecutive games before I’ll even think he is out of this year and a half “slump”. I’m happy for a win too but it’s not like they dominated the game and kicked the sharks asses. They scrapped by and that’s pathetic that this team can’t compete for more than maybe 12 mins a night. These constant early goals they give up and playing like it’s just a scrimmage for the first half of the game need to stop.

  16. Jeez. Looking at Mika’s reaction after scoring a big goal like that just concerns me as a person. Hope he’s ok

  17. I’m aging myself with the reference but tonight gave me PTSD of Mike Keane ending LaFontaine’s career

  18. This is LafreniereSoftball’s official “Done With Miller” Game.

I don’t care that it wasn’t on purpose. It was careless. And stupid. He doesn’t hit anyone EVER but sees Chytil out of his Peripheral Vision and throws out an elbow. Idiot move.

He’s not good enough to justify his cap hit. He’s certainly not good enough to justify keeping him on the roster when he injures players that are 10x more key than him. Trade him now and get a haul in return before he tanks his value even more.

I hope Chytil is OK. This team is f***ed without him. Goodbye Cup Chances.

At least Jones looked great tonight.

  19. Well that was a needed win for the Rangers. It was a game, where it was full of emotions. A piano lifted off Mika’s back, the reunification of d parings and lines, but a concern for one player, Chytil. This episode of Rangers Hockey F*arwell and Adieu to you fair Spanish Ladies(A Jaws reference).* The Rangers got a needed win before the Western Canada road trip. But, it’s time for the review of this bounce back and needed game.

1st Period: Early on, the Rangers had good chances. Kakko looked good with passes. Oh about Kakko, HE’S NOT A BUST. Rangers played down to their competition and gave up a goal on a odd bounce. Too Cute Hockey what Vally said. The Rangers needed to bring the Garden to life in this period. Way too many one and done shifts, and no o zone time. It felt like it was worse.

2nd Period: The period that went from a sigh of relief to groans of concern. First the good news. The Rangers played excellent this period. Controlled everything. The Rangers had a great shift, which led to the guy who’s been struggling the most, Mika. A piano off his back a deserved goal. But suddenly the worst happen. After making a beauty of spin o rama move by Chytil, accidental friendly fire from Key and Chytil went down. Honestly, at that point in the game, I really didn’t care if the Rangers gave up a goal there(which Fox made a nice play) because now, the concern is Chytil’s health. He returned to the game Lav said, but he didn’t play and as the period went on, he was held out(more on that in the wrap up). But, the Rangers had great shifts after that. The 4th Line continues to be a menace. That Sick Individual got into the act. What a goal by a Sick Individual. Fox had a sick goal, but it was called off. But the gwg was scored by My Guy Vinny Trocheck off a beauty of a pass from Bread. Bread and Gabagool go together. Excellent response.

3rd Period: The Rangers this period played well in the period. In control. Could they have scored another goal in this period? Yeah. But, the defensive breakdown towards the end gave me brief scare. Yeah the Sharks scored, but it was too late. Rangers held on. For the win.

Overall, I’m pleased the Rangers got the win. But my feelings towards this game, is more about Chytil’s health. Just hope it’s not a concussion. It was a friendly fire type hit and there’s no need to go after Key for what he did. It was accidental. As for the game, glad Mika got the piano off his back. PK was dynamite, and all 3 goals were scored at 5v5. Loved Mika’s confidence in this game. Glad he helped get the Ranger win. Good team win! Rangers are off for two days and onto the Kraken, for the first episode of **Rangers After Dark.** From what Vally said, the Kraken are struggling too. So this game could be huge for the Rangers. Onto the Kraken.

Rangers Oppenheimer chimed in and said “Good bounce back win.” “Take in the Sheets” “Two points in the bag.”

Good team win. Onto the Kraken

God Save the King, back afta dis.
