Goddamn does Minny not give up much but it’s nice to know we can keep up with them somewhat, but I can see why they’re on a heater in the League
Monty being confident enough to venture out of the net is pretty cool to see too
this game 😴😴😴

^^(Montembeault📈📈📈)
We just cant beat these guys. Idk what is, but there are like 5 teams that just have our number the last 4 years and we cant beat
Counting down the days until both dvorak and matheson are off this team. Just terrible hockey players. Were screwing over guhle and hutson just because hes a Quebecois lmaoooooo
Kirby dach is just not it, completely pathetic showing so far
Meh. Hard to be too upset. We were expected to lose and did lose. Just got beat by a far better team is all. Onwards…
Love it when the game winning goal is scored when we should’ve been on a powerplay. Fucking inexcusable reffing.

Ended up having a nap in the 2nd period 😂
that’s a good fucking team, they gave us nothing and didn’t make mistakes
With this win, the Wild is 2nd overall. Habs fought hard against one of the best teams. They didn’t look bad. Nothing upsetting. Wild are running a tight ship. Respect. I’m kinda surprised how bitchy that team was tho
I can forgive Marty for being a green coach, but I can’t forgive him for his block headed stubbornness with his line choices and deployment of certain players.
Cole I love ya man but you need to shoot the puck more. Stop passing it back to Matheson FFs.
Hutson is great. He should be on PP1.
Overall not the worst game but we have long way to go. Laine should help and once Demidov arrives, it should start picking up.
Hey guys, friendly devils fan here, but wtf is Marty doing with PP keeping Matheson there instead of Hutson?
Anyone who watched this game should realize it actually was very close. The first goal was garbage and on the refs to begin with and we couldn’t score. But at 5v5 and even on the pk the team looked much much better than the start of the season and I definitely see progress.
I don’t know what people are expecting here lol it’s still a rebuild. Wins aren’t going to happen that much.
The good thing is that with a few lucky bounces the habs absolutely could’ve won this game.
Defensively I was very happy with the game to be honest, we looked a lot better out there. Offensively I don’t really know what the heck is going on or why Matheson continues to get top power play minutes.
I know it doesn’t seem like it, but tonight was a good game and effort. On to the next one
Minnesota remains a boring ass team
The good news is this was the best defensive structure we’ve seen all year. We really played them even-ish for most of the game. The bad news: this perhaps comes at the expense of the offense, which just couldn’t break through (nor did it ever really feel it would break through). Struble’s unfortunately missed stick lift for the 4min penalty pretty much sealed it.
Hard to really be upset though. One of the NHL’s best team’s coming off a loss to Chicago was determine to tighten the screws defensively – and we didn’t have an answer.

we need to draft top 3 this year, its the only way this rebuild has a chance
Muchly improved team. Good game for a rebuild.
*BAD*
– bless you if you can fully raw dog that Habs game. No distractions, no phones, just boring Habs hockey.
– Insert obligatory Dach missed all of last year so let’s give him time. Regardless, he continues to not look so hot out there.
– Dvorak is terrible. It hurts my eyes.
– The shots from a multitude of players tonight were routinely at the crest. Credit their keeper, but I didn’t really see a high grade chance anywhere tonight.
– Habs do a lot of silly things. That Struble penalty is one of them.
– Refs had another one.
*GOOD*
– seems like there was an effort tonight.
– Hutson had a number of plays where you go hey there is a bright spot.
– Monty was better tonight.
One of the team’s more disciplined games, and good effort, albeit the final goal against was the result of sloppiness but we’d already lost at that point.
Montembeault looked more like himself tonight than in some recent games.
Until Marty stops being stubborn about dach and matheson don’t expect any success. I’m shell shocked dach is still on pp1.
I’m still annoyed at the Slaf getting held non-call
I mentioned this in the game thread—-
Woulda been nice to see a bigger push in the third with them down two forwards but other than that it’s hard to complain about tonight at all.
Gustavvson shoulda been penalized on the play before Minnys first goal.
Killing off a 4 minute power play when the other team has a hart candidate and elite blueliners is always tough.
Habs are really shoring up their game defensively and I look forward to seeing that translate into better offensive play.
7/10
Habs need to come out strong on Saturday.
No more bullshit letdown bad losses.
Don’t have to win against CBJ, but sure as hell better have a competitive Saturday night game at the Bell Center.
I miss Weber
the habs played fairly well defensively, even if offensively they just didnt get it tonight, but what im most mad abt is that for the most part i thought the wilds were a genuinely really good team with solid players but i still get away from this game soured on them bc of a couple of dogshit guys with dirty plays got away with it all night and the refs seemed to be squarely on their sides which fucking sucks i think 😭 they dont need to play dirty they got the players for it they got the talent why the fuck do you just knee guys unprompted and shit like 😭😭
1. Caufield on line 2? Experiment failed.
2. The team is soft.
3. Huston needs to be on pp1
This is exactly how we want to be. (Minus the 0 goals)
Overall a pretty solid defensive game by the Habs, they just couldn’t score against a stingy Wild team with a hot goalie.
Better than 90% of their games this season. But by all means let’s all just bitch and blame it on two players.
Good news is next game is against a Columbus team that’s almost as bad as we are. Should be a real battle of the bums.
If we want all our players to play better, we need to start rewarding guys that are doing good right now. I’m sorry but Dach doesn’t deserve that much quality ice time. What is the message they want to send? We don’t care how you play we will keep our plan no matter what happens?
It needs to change right now. Matheson does a stupid shot on the PP? Next one you put Hutson on it until he does stupid/lazy moves. You must do that at every position for this team right now. Healthy scratch Dvojark for 1-2 games to shake him. Do what a real coach that wants to win would do !
The coaching staff is really frustrating to watch this year, they try nothing.
I really think Hughes job is going to come down to if Demidov is a superstar or not. You only get so many bites at the Apple before you get fired.
And things overall look really poor right now. This offseason combined with how good Demidov is I really think will decide his fate.
If Demidov isn’t a true star, I just don’t see this team making big enough strides fast enough to not just start to look like the Senators or Sabres and costing him his job.
nah this wasn’t so bad. I’ve seen a lot of bad L this season already. they fought hard. MIN sure has one of the best DEF I’ve seen this season. and they had somehow crippled offense with Eriksson Ek and Zucc injured early in game. made us look little better TBH
Defense
Constantly forcing teams to the corners. Good
Somehow managing to be constantly outmanned in front of the net. Bad
Offense
The depth is just bad. We have a handful of players in Laval with better hockey sense and skill than Dvorak and Anderson.
Transition
Static and bad. If you’re gonna run and gun you need to force mistakes. It looks lazy and uninspired. What ever happened to concepts.
Those penalties at the end.. and we need to shoot more
My favorite part of the game was when Dach finally got in front of the net all by himself and then he…
coasted to a weak wrist shot straight to the chest
Honestly if Hutson’s gonna stay on PP2, I’d love to see PP2 get more ice time. I find them way more entertaining thanks to the chaos that 48 creates.
Dvorak has the puck, Hutson activates, pass goes into his skates and they can’t recover. The rest is history.
Dach is terrible. And that is an understatement.
Did he have the most PP icetime tonight ? Dach really doesn’t deserve to be on PP1.
Beside Dach, Dvorak and Newhood were horrible.
The first half of the game is quite even. It’s quite entertaining although it’s scoreless.
In my book, Hutson is now our best player. Yes, better than Suzuki and Caufield.
I feel less dissatisfied than after our earlier losses, so yay?
They played better as a group, but were fucked by the officials all night.
Man I hope Laine brings some life to this team….
Probably major cope since he hasn’t play a game in a very long time. But still I’m hopeful he can give the 2nd line some help.
Good :
Hutson
Struble (bad luck on the high stick)
Monty gave a solid performance despite it all.
Bad :
Dvorak : that turn over pass behind Hutson was ugly.
Dach : No Energy, second effort is missing.
Hey look on the bright side, we averaged over 6 shots per period
The Habs haven’t won in Minnesota since 2011. That’s Wild.
