Cool stuff! Seems like what the eye test has shown, a good 3B but a 6-7 yr deal wouldn’t be a great choice.
I’ve gone back and forth on this, Chapman got a 6 year deal and I think it would be great for him to retire with the Astros, but he’s not the ‘18-19 version and I wonder if he’s more Kris Bryant than Jose Altuve in terms of production in his 30s.
I would go for a secure contract. That’s it.
Another big test for the front office. Altuve was a no-brainer. Breggy seems to be a little more on the edge.
>I don’t love the decline vs. Fastballs. He also posted his lowest BB% (6.9%) and highest chase rate of his career, 82nd percentile. So not only was he not hitting the fastball, but he wasn’t patient and chased out of the zone.
This seems to reflect the whole team’s plate approach.
