Oh I know what they could use! A veteran Presence on the third line at Centre to bring the young kids along and steady the ship .
Love my 17 Oxidation jursey sad He wont get any money off it.
Isn't it crazy that we are talking about the answer being a third line winger being the solution on the 2nd line centre? Tells you a lot….this team was constructed to lose….no first line wingers, one second line winger, and a bunch of third and fourth line wingers………scrubs of other teams….
The Penguins have only been "not getting pick luck" for like 5 straight years now.
Worst shooting percentage in the league year after year.
The coach ladies and gentlemen.
I agree, the Penguins have surrounded their stars with AHL players, (maybe 4th liners) and it doesn't work. Its actually been nice to see Sid, Geno on a line with Rakell, cause it actually resembles a first line throughout the league. You look at this year and even to the past, Sid has never really had legit first liners with him, ( I may exclude Jake, but he grew into that role), but guys like Domink Simon, Connor Sheary….fast track to this year, O'Connor, and I do like him but he's outclassed nightly and isn't at that level. Even for me, and I know I get hate for this, Rust is on no line one throughout the league, and his game is that of a third liner. You watch the elite teams and how they are put together, even McDavid isn't expected to drag two ham an eggers around with him. But you look up and down this line up, for teams to take guys, theres a real short list, obviously with Sid being the top prize. I dare say that list is under five, but with that said, over the years you watch guys come to this team and system and are not given the right opportunity or are buried in the line playing a game that doesn't match up, and than get traded and have success. First guy I think of is Jared McCaan, than John Marino……I'd take Mathieson back over Karlsson, CeCe over Grzelcyk……or kept Addison over Zucker. But whatever my opinion is doesn't matter, the Penguins have literally zero depth, and the depth they have is so under performing, checked out, or don't care? If you think back to their cup wins, it was their third lines that made the biggest difference, Lines 1 and 2 would cancel out, and the lines centered by Stall and Bonino outdueled their counter parts. Watching teams like Dallas, Winnipeg, Vegas, Florida……..four lines, interchangeable, and relentless, its unrealistic to look at the Penguins lineup and even mention them with these teams, the fat lady is singing, the ship has sailed, the bell is ringing, its been great but its over!
The answers <to me> are to at least have a half decent D <including forwards who can play some D>. This means having team speed which I view as the big problem w. the Pens who are now slow and old but skilled, so they can only play well in short spurts..They are forever playing a step behind.
They stink. They’re really is no analyzing it. It’s a terrible roster. And lack of talent as you said.
