Losing brings it. Need someone to take it.
Dork
You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
Everyone’s time comes.
Sullivan is disliked by many. Losing winnable games, talking talk, not walking walks, and not disciplining players for losing are reasons why Sullivan needs to go.
There are better head coaches who know the present day NHL better than Sullivan.
He scares because he cares
I’ve always been more of a Mike Wazowski guy myself
Put that thing back where it came from or so help me!
What about the time he single-handedly landed that airplane on the Hudson River after birds wrecked the engines? A true hero, Sully.
We can’t be sitting here and talking bad about the reigning Scare Champ can we? He not only took the whole city out of the dark but found a new and better energy solution for everyone. He deserves a statue. But with Mike slightly obscured behind him.
What we are seeing is the result of failures from all levels.
Lets recap the past few years of this org: 1) Hires Hextall – an unproven GM 2) Hextall starts handing out bad contracts like candy, even giving his buddies deals(Jeff Carter) that no other GM would even consider doing. 3) Penguins switch ownership, hires another unproven GM 4) Dubas trades away some bad contracts for other bad contracts. 5) Dubas at last years time said the Pens were ‘going for it’ 6) Dubas Trades away Guentzel during a playoff push for unproven(small) European players. Did not get a 1st rnd pick and so happens to get Bunting(more cronyism) 7) Trades away our best prospect seen in some time for a toxic crybaby kid – Who wanted a trade so he can play in the NHL – this was advertised during the trade as Dubas said ‘he wanted someone who can play now’. Rutger is now failing miserably in the AHL – Yager looks like a stud. 8) Disgruntled fans who have received mixed messages the past 3 years are now looking for answers.
Fact is our defence is overpaid/under performing. Forwards are overpaid and underperforming (Hayes, Glass, Rust, Bunting, Lizzotte). The goalies are average but look terrible due to the above. The coach seemingly refuses to change the system – a system thats been obviously hacked by other teams.
This is an old team, with bad puck sense ironically, who isnt fast, not big, not mean and this is a team that should start tanking for the future. Here we are today. Bedards cousins coming up in a few years. We better aim for that.
James P Sullivan would make a great penguins head coach. The fellas would be afraid to make mistakes
Because fans don’t understand he doesn’t acquire the players. This is the worst defensive unit in the league and the worst we’ve had in the 87/71 era. They are going to make any goaltender or coach we have look bad. Blomqvist would be able to steal games if he wasn’t getting shelled each night.
Fire him. He’s washed. So what if he led the power plant to a back to back corporate softball championship?
For me it’s not hate. Look the Steelers taught me a lot about coaching stability. But in hockey it seems you just need a different voice strategy in the dressing room Having said that the 65 acquisition was a horrible move Just horrible
James P. Sullivan was a good team member but he’s not a leader. He did one thing well and that’s it, as long as that thing was scoring the big Scare Cup at the end of scaring season, everything was great. Howver, it was Mike Wazowski who had the leadership skills and vision and could switch up his game plan when the factory changed, or when an opponent (like Randall) got much better where his team used to dominate (on the scare floor). Sullivan might make a good assistant somewhere, but as a leader right now he comes off as old school, tired, resistant to change. He doesn’t even know what puce is.
I’m sure I’m not the first a-hole to say I’d prefer that Sully
What I can’t believe is that he isn’t sick of coaching this terrible team. I’m surprised he hasn’t asked to leave. He should be coaching a great team to cup wins.
He is a great coach and I think anyone that thinks he is a bad coach knows nothing about hockey.

He is also the all time scare leader.
