1. Winning this game is imperative. We must.

2. I slept for 12 hours yesterday and I’m hopped up on Sudafed and Alkaseltzer. Wake the fuck up it’s Game Day

3. I’m pretty fucking tired. Didn’t go to bed until past midnight and had to get up at 5am for work.

4. So the boys completed all of their side quests for the Pens except a suggested one for JFV to beat the brakes off Bunting.  For tonight, I think we should up the difficulty a bit.

   1. 25 shots on goal

   2. Goal by a baby Wing (Marco, Berggy, Ed or AlJo)

   3. Successful on 50% of PK

5. A little over 7 years ago when Chester died, I would have never thought there would be brand new Linkin Park music, but the new album is awesome. They knocked it out of the park keeping the same vibes, but also keeping it fresh. Plus there are world tour dates with Detroit being in Summer of 2025. I never thought I would get the chance to see them live, but I’m going to that show for sure.

6. Can be tough to start west coast road trips against bad teams, but we’ve gotta throttle ANA tonight. They have been some kind of terrible much of the year. Let’s start this one off like we did against PIT and keep them on their back foot. Give the EST’ers the jolt they need to stay up watching until 12:30am.

8. Wings pour it on tonight. Thinking game total is over 6 goals, Wings cover the spread, with Larkin scoring, and Kasper finally getting his first. Guy is working too hard to not break through.

9. Last season the team was middling a bit and they went out on the west coast and swept all 3 games which got them going again. Let’s have more of that.

10. My two year old son played the reverse uno on me last night. He said he wanted to watch hockey but when we got home he grabbed the remote and said “cars” instead.

    This morning he said hockey over and over so during breakfast this morning we watched Awoods highlight video from the pittsburgh game and he loved it.

11. Need some help:

    I get to meet my niece’s first boyfriend this weekend at her birthday party. We are very much a hockey family (we all grew up playing it, still enjoy the beer leagues) and he is a football player – actually plays quarterback. So what are some funny (but appropriate) things I can do to razz him a little.

    Something like pretending I don’t know much about football and say “that’s the sport where you guys run around for 3 or 4 seconds and then all get back together to take a quick nap, right?”

    Or letting him know I did the math – and if he passes the ball 30 times in a game and has to throw it within 3 seconds that’s only like a minute and a half of exercise – so does he even break a sweat?

    I was once in this poor kid’s shoes so I don’t want to go overboard – but he also has to know he made one bad choice in choosing football over hockey and that better be his worst choice he makes!

12. Seeing Anaheim’s losing record reminded me of the years when they were a powerhouse and makes me wonder how much longer it will take for teams like the Leafs, Bruins, and Rangers to completely fall out of playoff contention. Back when the salary cap was first implemented, someone mentioned that it will cause every team to miss the playoffs within a period of ten years. Would be interesting to go through the stats and see if that now is the approximate lifecycle of competitive teams.
