I had a lady at the bar that works at the hospital and said Russell stops there at least once a week to see the kids and just try to brighten there day. He’s a good guy and a good role model. Not too many guys out there like him.
Russ is a nerdy preacher’s kid who just happens to be a gifted QB. He comes off as corny but it’s all genuine.
He’s a great fit for the team, and after three games, he’s my second favorite Steelers QB.
Russell Wilson takes all the “right” “cheesy” things seriously and truly tries to do them. Tries to stay positive. Very few humans can actually do that so it comes across as fake. But Wilson clearly chooses to do the “right” every time he can (I’m sure he messes up at some point).
It’s weird because no one does that, I think he takes being the leader and face of the team seriously and has seen a lot of people mess it up.
I might still think it’s a little fake or forced sometimes, but hey fake it until you make it and I am not going to fault a guy for doing his best to do all the right things right.
He was going to the children’s hospitals unannounced with no cameras as a backup after being promised to be a starter. He is good in my book.
Broncos screwed him and it’s obvious
His play for the Steelers has won me over, but maaaaannnnnn are hit interviews a hard listen.
I see a lot about Russ being corny and cheesy, but he hasn’t done any of his “let’s ride” or “mr. Unlimited” stuff at all since he’s been a Steeler. He’s been quietly helping Justin while injured, balling since he’s been a starter, working hard, and visiting kids in the hospital. That’s it. Perhaps he ditched the old ways. He seems focused this season.
Yall are so late he’s been doing this for years. People just live to shit on the man. One of the best dudes in the NFL he just gets labels such as being corny etc. open your eyes
It’s no wonder why he he’s won a Walter Payton award. Having him and Cam as leaders on both sides of the ball just establishes a good culture for the team.
I like Russ man, before he got signed I didn’t want him. I actually was opposing he and Justin, however Pitt was the perfect fit for them both. I’m grateful for both of our QB’s.
He’s just having fun and seems to be thankful to be a part of a franchise, coaching staff and fan base that appreciates him. Russ and Pittsburgh deserve each other.
