  1. Could have been 9-2 if we won against Suns and especially against that damn Pistons. But Redick has been better so far although Ham brought us to WCF. No one expected the Lakers to have this good start especially everyone was clowning us for hiring a rookie podcaster coach. And he is doing this without Vando & Wood. I still hope we make a trade tho… we’ll see

  2. We need to stop asking if he’s better than Ham because pretty much every coach is better than Ham.

  3. We reached the CF with talent and guts alone, it was not because of Ham. Ham is a motivational coach, that’s why he wouldn’t make adjustments in game AT ALL. He would make adjustments for the next game in a playoff series, but in the game nope.

In the huddles he will never say we are going for this play, you always saw LeBron talking what they were going to do. He was just there saying that they need to work hard, physicality and all those bullshit words he said.

JJ is actively calling plays both screaming and with his hands, his attention to detail is crazy.

This JJ I believe could’ve won against the nuggets in the WCF that year. WE LITERALLY MADE 0 ADJUSTMENTS against the Nuggets that year, we played the same fucking way and lost the same way, every game. And it happened AGAIN this past year… it’s really frustrating.

All in all, JJ is already better and will get better with personnel that can let him run more diverse plays, right now he is stuck with what he has.

  4. We just have an average team, we need another centre and to trade D Lo for a spot up 3 point shooter

  5. So far so good. Definitely more enthusiasm. Timeouts called appropriately, better starters. But do you know what I don’t like? It’s not about JJ, it’s about this sub. When Ham first got in, people were crapping themselves with excitement. Memes etc. But people did the same with JJ after the home opener. People need to wait and see what happens first. But so far so good..

  6. The fact that Bron low-key campaigned for and wanted him AFTER the podcast, means he’s better than Ham just bc Bron buys into the scheme, THEY’VE set up, and AD by extension would be onboard with that as his usage levels have gone up as well

  7. Under ham we would be 4-7 with a bunch of moral victories for coming back from down 20 to lose by 5.

  8. Tbh wait, hate Ham all you want but JJ needs to go further in the playoffs. So far he looks better but we ain’t even 20 games in.

  9. This team would be 4-7 under Ham right now instead of 7-4. No way we win the opener against the Timbs or beat the Suns in the first meeting. Probably lose to the Kings as well. Wouldn’t be surprised if we blow that first Toronto game too.

  10. The Lakers are still a few players short. The question is if the FO can get JJ those players and if he can get them to go deep in the playoffs and maybe knockoff the Nuggets.

Being better than Ham seems like a goal that Kings and Clippers fans have. Lakers fans should hold the franchise to a much higher standard.

To me the real question is if he is going to be better than Vogel. He was the last good coach we had.

  11. Yes. Keep in mind the gap between good coaching and bad coaching with the same roster will be usually be about 5ish wins a season. So it’s not an insane gap in individual games but it is a noticeable difference over the course of a season. The Lakers are on roughly 52 win pace. Last year’s they won46 games

  12. Obviously, he’s a better fit for this team than Ham.

That being said, the Lakers need a major roster upgrade to actually become a good team. Without that, they might win the same number of games as last year and exit the playoffs the same way.
