I really feel for our guy Khris. The timeline of his injuries in this article really goes to show how tough the last 3 years must have been for him. I am concerned with the ambiguity Doc, Khris and the front office are showing when discussing his return date. Yesterday Shams said he still hasn't played any 5 on 5

  1. This is a really bad sign that he wasn’t able to start the season or even the first couple weeks.

  2. Years ago I said we should re-sign him because he’s rarely on the court. I was downvoted. Well…?

  3. This sub has pinned a lot of hope on this guy. I know why you guys like him but as a blazers transplant, I have hardly seen him play other than a couple of nice playoffs games, and I highly doubt he ends up playing more than 30-40 games this season. Tough position for the team.

  4. I know a lot of people are frustrated by I remain hopeful that he’ll be back and have a great impact for us this year. I agree with the idea that he isn’t “injury prone” in the way I’d be concerned. He’s had a rough go of unfortunate injuries, namely that twisted knee and then his ankle after the KD contest. These are coin flip injuries that come with playing the game. They aren’t from not taking care of himself or from playing in a reckless fashion.

He was the brightest part of our playoffs last year, undoubtedly hobbled but still out there as a near one man offense. Even with injuries, he’s got the kind of game, talent, and BBIQ to be a huge positive force when he’s out there for us.

From what I can gather from the various reports, it sounds like what’s keeping him sidelined isn’t a physical inability, a leg that won’t support his weight or something like that, but pain/comfort. That’s also good news for me. Surgeries can take a few months to come back from, especially if you’re going to be asked to play against the world’s top athletes. If he needs to take off a bit of the beginning of the season to make sure he’s in a good place and doesn’t risk injuring himself by pushing his body for some regular season games, that’s fine with me. Again, referencing the Indiana series last year, I trust him to power through if he can when it matters.

Our path back to the top is going to be a marathon and isn’t going to be an easy one. But we’ve got guys that are winners and Khris is at the top of that list. His name isn’t Khris “Michael Jeffery Jordan” Middleton for nothing.

I’m hoping for the best for him and can’t wait to see him back on the court soon.

  5. Middleton needs to come out and talk to the damn media. He’s made this as ambiguous as possible

  6. His mid range shooting percentage must be top of the league, he hasn’t missed a shot all season. Right?
