Which infielders should Astros target if Alex Bregman leaves in free agency?

There’s 3B replacements all seem awful. If we can get Arenaudo with the Cards eating money that might be the only suitable thing.

Craig Biggio, Miguel Tejada, or if they’re really desperate, Adam Everett
Moncada could be interesting and relatively low risk. He’d probably be my top choice. Some safer vets could fill in admirably… I don’t think a trade makes a ton of sense unless we’re eating a lot of cash (which I’d rather spend on our players).
Other than Arenado and maybe Moncada, we’re taking a serious step backward at 3B if we don’t re-sign Breggy. We don’t have a player in our minor league system who could play at near to that capacity and Doobie is best served as a utility player whose defense is best at SS or 2B.
The contract Chapman signed with the Giants should be a minimum for Breggy but I think we’re going to need to give him a little more. I don’t think the 6 years is the problem, but the AAV.
