Lions vs. Jaguars Week 11 Preview | Twentyman in the Huddle
On this episode of the Twentyman in the Huddle podcast presented by Microsoft, Tim Twentyman previews the Detroit Lions’ third AFC South matchup of the season when the Jacksonville Jaguars make the trip to Ford Field on Sunday. First, Tim welcomes T.J. Lang, former Detroit Lions guard and current analyst for 97.1 The Ticket, to discuss the three keys to the game. The duo express their excitement to see Za’Darius Smith in action for the first time as a Lion, and how he can complement interior defensive linemen like Alim McNeill. They also explain why the offensive line needs a bounce back performance vs. Jacksonville against a Jaguars defensive front led by Travon Walker and Josh Hines-Allen before chatting about Detroit’s strong secondary.
Next, Detroit Lions tackle Penei Sewell joins the show. After a lighthearted conversation about Penei’s children with another daughter on the way, Sewell discusses the importance of work/life balance. Penei reflects on last week’s game vs. Houston, where he and the Detroit Lions’ offense bounced back in the second half en route to a 26-23 comeback win. Penei also chats about the mentality of the team heading into the Jaguars game, matching up with Walker and Hines-Allen and his thoughts on playing alongside guard Kevin Zeitler.
To close the show, Jaguars’ Senior Writer John Oehser calls in to share all the latest coming from Jacksonville. John talks about how backup quarterback Mac Jones needs to have a better performance this week with starter Trevor Lawrence still out with an injury. He also shares some Jacksonville players to look out for and what the Jaguars need to do for a important road win. Stay tuned for more postgame coverage of Lions-Jaguars following Sunday afternoon’s game at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan!

Go Lions!
Smith looks super excited to be a lions and is showing it in spades!! ❤❤ also, that secondary has become elite!!
2023 average opponent qb rating: 93.1. This year – 75.1! Best in the league!!
Dear Jacksonville: in advance, nothing personal.
i was absolutely amazed at how much we missed Paschal for those couple of weeks. That dude is a monster on the edge. and pair him with Za'Darius Smith and bookend those two around the awesome DT trio – and how the hell is anyone going to run the ball on us?! The run defense might be better with these two than it was with Hutch/Davenport. Get them in third and long, move Z around, get Houston bending edges like he did last week while absolutely embarrassing Laremy Tunsil a time or two… I AM EXCITE!
lol Penei is tired. Taking care of two young kids with a 3rd on the way while being the best tackle in the league it’s tough.
Is it strange to be looking forward to "overreaching" in the draft again next year? Dynasty stuff!
