Marshawn was targeted in the 2007 draft for Green Bay, and again in free agency in 2010. Rumor was he didn't care for the weather after his time in Buffalo. Anyone else have any players who almost became Cheeseheads?

We stupidly passed on TJ Watt in the draft
Tony Gonzalez was about 5 minutes away from being a Packer before they changed their minds very very last second.
Randy Moss. Favre tried to get him.
Rumor was when we traded up and selected Love, our original target was Justin Jefferson.
Beast Mode! Like they used to say, “He is 1 traffic stop away from going to the ‘Big House’ for 20 years.”
Martellus Bennett
I don’t care what anything or anyone says. He was never *actually* a Packer.
I went to the Hall of Fame and they have a exhibit on the Draft since it’ll be coming to GB next year.
One of the Packers scouts tried his hardest for the Packers to draft Joe Montana, but the GM didn’t listen of course. Not sure if that qualifies for “almost” but someone was trying to get us to get him. I found it interesting.
Calvin Johnson wanted to leave Detroit and play with Rodgers.
Eric Dickerson. Ron Wolf traded for him from Atlanta in the early 90s, at the tail end of Dickerson’s career. He failed the physical and the trade was voided.
Marshawn Lynch literally said to J. Finley and AR during halftime of a Bills/Packer game in 2010 “tell Ted to come get me,” so the weather thing really doesn’t check out. TT went cheap with a 4th rd offer and got outbid, it’s that simple. This along with passing on TJ Watt when OLB was definitely a need (Peppers just left) and balking at Randy Moss in 07’ after Favre lobbied for him right before he went to New England and caught 23 TDs are 3 of our biggest FA/trade fails.
Archie Manning, they had agreed to a deal but the Saints starter got hurt and they backed out, the Packers then pivoted and traded for John Hadl
Khalil Mack
Stephen Jackson
Uhhh doesn’t anyone remember Ray Lewis was actually on the phone with Green Bay on Draft Day and the Packers were ready to pick him with the next pick. Just needed one more team to pick, and then it was Green Bay’s turn. Turns out that the team in front of them was Baltimore.
This cover pic makes my heart sad. How different the Rodgers era would’ve been if they grabbed lynch and had prime Rodgers with prime lynch 😔
We drafted Tony Mandritch over Barry Sanders. Can’t believe no one’s mentioned this one.
Darren Waller
There are reports a year or two ago that we were very close to trading for him.
Justin Jefferson…
Why is no one talking about Ray Lewis?!
Can you imagine, Moss running a go route, puts his hand up, and Favre just launches it for the TD. He would have been the perfect receiver for Brett.
Any of the hall of famers taken after we took Tony mandrich lol
Gerald Ford
Ron Wolf was going to draft Ray Lewis in 96 (I think) but Baltimore took him the pick before. We ended up with bust OL Jon Michels
ESPN reported we had signed Stephen Jackson then recalled it when he actually signed with the falcons. https://www.espn.com/blog/green-bay-packers/post/_/id/4539/jacksons-decision-opened-door-for-lacy#
Eric Dickerson actually was a Packer, sort of, but failed his physical. The Falcons tried to trade him to GB. He retired after that.

Barry Sanders, Deion Sanders, or Derrick Thomas.
All Hall of Famers. But we got Mandrich.
