For comparison, this is what Luka looked like playing the Jazz 11 months ago.

wtf is up with him? he can barely fucking move compared to this… the obvious answer is he’s heavier but he has to be hurt or something.

  1. He could very well be hurt? He was injured in the playoffs, took it easy in the off season I think, and wasn’t there a post the other day saying he had some form of knee injury but played through it?

  2. Look at the way he’s flying around chasing guys off the perimeter here, how much energy he has fighting for boards… it’s almost to the point where I’m wondering if we should sit him and just try and have him heal up. The next month or so up until Christmas is probably the easiest stretch of the season. Just inshallah and let Kyrie carry

  3. He looks an easy 15 lbs lighter, if not more. That much weight takes it’s toll, let alone the conditioning being missed out on by not trying to stay in shape in the first place.

I don’t buy the injury excuse. He might be hurt, but with that much off-season time, there is still plenty of low impact ways to stay ready without aggravating an injury. If stayed in shape, but couldn’t play basketball due to injury, he’d look rusty. But he doesn’t look rusty, he looks sluggish, slow, and out of shape. It leads to settling for bad shots on offense and taking plays off on defense.

The ship has sailed on ever expecting him to do anything more than raw talent can deliver. Margins are thin in the NBA and he will be talented enough for All-Star selections, maybe some more All-NBAs, but he will remain a cut below the Jokic/Giannis class of players that put in the work to be winners.

  4. Its the legs. I’d rather he sit out and heal up completely this season than to push through and make it worse.

  5. He’s too fast here. Also the rotation of the team is different with DJJ and Exum. I know we got Klay but I think we really need to be involve more in offball situations. Hopefully we can bounce back man, hate seeing Kyrie putting up big numbers and just end up losing.

  6. Fat boy ate his way out of shape again this season. It’s between him and Zion. For someone who has been a pro since 13 I’ve never seen someone so unprofessional

  7. It’s not the injuries. It’s not giving a fuck about getting in leaner and athletic condition over the summer.

  8. If the guy can’t control his appetite get him some Ozempic, get all the sups he can take, take HGH / T etc within allowable limits to boost with someone who’s a professional. Get him a legit PT which actually knows what the hell he’s doing. JT is 1 single inch taller than Luka, JT listed weight is 20 lbs lighter ( probably larger difference now ). JT has more lean mass, less fat, lower BF%, much better conditioned, much quicker, plays both sides of the floor, and is still really strong.

  9. The shortest, most accurate answer is he’s out of shape AGAIN.

My guess is Kidd and head office are scared shitless of him leaving that they don’t want to sit him down and tell him to smarten the fuck up.
