[MLB] This is wild: Cubs pitcher Shota Imanaga asked Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes to show him his fastball grip. Imanaga no-hit the Pirates his next outing against them.

  1. This is cool, but considering Shota has one of the best fastball profiles (excluding velocity) and skenes has an unremarkable profile (with insane velocity), I’m not sure Shota did much with skenes’ grip

  2. I remember a Cubs player (I want to say Randy Hundley, but I’m not 100% sure) saying that after watching film of Sandy Koufax pitching, they could tell by his windup if it was going to be a fastball or a curveball, and went out very confident the next day that they were going to have a very good day at the plate. Koufax no-hit them. Ironically, after that the Cubs would go a major league record 49 years before they would be no-hit again.
