No Jordan Morgan or MarShawn Lloyd at practice today. Don’t see Lloyd after he practiced the last two days. Morgan is on the bike after being added to the injury report with another shoulder injury yesterday.

Morgan being injured again is getting concerning. Gute has been great in the later rounds but his first round picks have been questionable.

Definitely concerning that Morgan is hurt again, especially just from practice.
I would like to discourage you, however, from passing judgment on a decision to draft a player based on injuries that occurred down the line. General Managers are not clairvoyant. They cannot predict that someone will get injured. It’s one thing if a guy had a long injury history in college. You could make that case about Lloyd. But to my recollection Morgan had one ACL tear but absolutely no history of shoulder injuries. Knocking Gute for not predicting that a recurring shoulder issue was in his future is beyond silly.
It’s pretty common rookies bodies aren’t really ready for the league. If this persists through next season it can be a discussion point but it’s really way too early to blame anyone
If I don’t get to finally see Lloyd sometime soon I’m gonna start to get crabby.
Lloyd and Morgan just can’t catch a break
You’re going to blame injury on poor scouting?
Gute’s a fucking dumbass for not taking DeJean at 25 instead of Morgan
I suspect Lloyd’s career might be over before it began
Lloyd had an appendicitis today so that’s why he missed practice. Hope he’s okay!!
Just got a notification that Lloyd has appendicitis apparently
Llyod has appendicitis. Unfortunate timing for the team and him.
Apparently Lloyd woke up this morning w/ appendicitis… no really. Recovery usually takes a few weeks so the team is talking with the NFL to see if he can come back later because he is in the 21 days practice window where they need to reinstate him.
Morgan is destined to be an Alexander like presence on the IL.
Lloyd has appendicitis so he’s expected to miss 2-3 weeks recovering from that. He will be out for the year if the NFL doesn’t grant an extension of the 21 day window to bring a player to the active roster from IR.
Bro Morgan got his shoulder injured in training camp. He played through it till it got hurt to a worse degree and then when they reevaluated it they realized the initial injury was much worse than they had realized. Think of playing a position where you are being asked to move 300lb men who run 4.8 40s and bench 225 25-35 times and you’re having to do that with one of your shoulders fairly fucked up. This is something that is like a hamstring on a WR where it was going to be with him all season long due to the stress he was going to put on it every single snap he took.
To my knowledge the dude was never injured in college besides from tearing his ACL around this time two years ago.
We have done him no favors from a development standpoint with asking him to go from basically only playing LT in college to playing RG and then LG against Detroit. Changing positions is tough in general (see Jenkins and Tom’s first 1-2 years where we moved them around constantly) now add to the fact that he is a rookie and that he is banged up and you got a guy who is fighting a shit ton of headwinds just to break even.
Give the dude some time. KC, Dbahk, Linsley, Gary, Adams, Jones, etc are all draft picks that we have had that didn’t look great their first years or at best were average starters yet by the time their 3-4th year came around they were pillars on the team.
