I got no idea what to think about this. He could be a very good front office baseball mind or very bad we got no idea really lol.
Thought that was James Click’s role?
This feels like a pretty nice promotion for a guy who is best known for getting fired as the Reds manager
The Reds don’t have much to show for it, but they are a pretty analytically-inclined org. They have or at least had a close working relationship with Driveline.

Should they be hiring anyone considering there’s a good chance everyone’s gonna be fired soon unless they have an off-season for the ages? Lol

I have no idea what his actual mandate will be, but I feel as if hiring more baseball guys for the front office is a good thing, based solely on difference of opinion.
I’m….Not totally against this move. Click is the VP of baseball strategy (whatever that means) while Bell will serve primarily in development. I think it’s a good thing to have an old school type person in Bell involved as his family has a lineage in baseball and there’s got to be a wealth of knowledge he has.
Still, if Atkins gets fired midway through the year it’s Click’s job to lose.
I’ll always remember him from the Jomboy breakdown of that time Amir Garret charged the opposing dugout, where he (Bell) was described as “[John Stewart’s angry baseball brother](https://youtu.be/iU-ESpiwV4o?si=eWjo84u8zn8YGjtt&t=312).”
How many fucking guys need to be in this front office?
