  1. What about David Price? He was never outright BAD but he also wasn’t what we paid for in an ace. Came up clutch in 2018 but we could’ve used that in 16 & 17 or 19 as well

  2. I cast my vote for AL Batting Champ Bill Mueller.

Walk off HR in the ARod-Varitek brawl game.

Turns Rivera into Charlie Brown in Game 7.

Made his name elsewhere. Became a legend here.

Bonus points for having the defeated swing-and-miss stance that batters did in Bases Loaded II on NES.

  3. Mitch Moreland? Good memories but let’s not kid ourselves. Played four seasons here with a bWAR of 1.9, 1.5, 1.3, and 1.2. Never bad, never great.

  4. Generally curious where you’d put wakes career on this list. His longevity and his liability make him great but career wise it started ok and ended ok to me

  5. I was gonna say John Valentin, but I think he may have been better in the pre-Nomar era than I’m remembering.

  6. You guys are nuts. It’s Yaz. Started his career hitting .266 with decent advanced stats for the period. Ended his career hitting .266 with decent advanced stats. Had a hall of fame career in the 20 years in between but he’s the answer.
