Must Must Win, LGRW!
I have been thinking a little bit about Jeff Blashill and coaching in general. Are we seeing similar results from this team as we did with Jeff Blashill? And the only reason why we might be better in some areas are the fact that we have better players? If so, why did we bring in Lalonde? I just feels strange to swap one “interim” coach for another, if Lalonde isnt going to be the answer going forward and he also is a placeholder more or less. Or is the general idea here that Lalonde will grow with the roster somehow and in time become a cup winning coach?
Maybe Jeff himself wanted out, that would make some sense. I think his contract ran out, right? So could he have been the one who walked out?
Edit: Yes, it does indeed look like his contract ran out, he signed a one year deal the year prior and it just says Detroit opted to not re-sign him.
HEY. lgrw
Didn’t watch last nights game nor the fight. Just saw the score. But lemme guess. We have managed to run another good goalie into the ground again?
SET THE TONE EARLY BOYS.
AND PLEASE DON’T LOSE.
8pm is better than 10pm.
I knew Berggren just needed to crack the seal before the goals started rolling in. He’s on pace for 70 goals this season since he scored his first goal and I’m confident he hits it.
No Edvinsson isn’t great
Went to the Griffins game last night and had an absolute blast. Didn’t make it to a game last year so I made sure to make it this year. They stomped the Wolves. I got to see a Danielson goal and assist, an Ammo goal, Soderblom had a 2 point night, Cossa had the start and ya boy was very inebriated. 😂 A great game to see. Now a Wings win today would be fantastic hockey gods. Thank you.
The Athletic did a piece on each team’s fastest rising prospect and this is what Max Bultman wrote RE: Emmitt Finnie:
>Detroit’s best prospects this season have been AHL goalie Sebastian Cossa and SHL defenseman Axel Sandin-Pellikka, but since both are first-rounders with established pedigrees, let’s go with Finnie here as the biggest riser. The 2023 seventh-round pick has been outstanding in the WHL with the Kamloops Blazers, putting up 27 points through his team’s first 17 games — and wearing the captain’s “C” to top it off. Finnie has been noticeable at Detroit’s prospect events the last two years, a strong skater who displays two-way responsibility and a good shot as well. If he’s able to keep up this kind of production, the Red Wings may have a find here.
Good for him. Hope it works out for the kid.
Here’s a bonus Finnie goal from last night, I believe:

Waking up to that loss last night is inching me closer to the mindset of previous years where I’ll watch the games if I have nothing going on that night but I’m not gonna plan my days around sitting in front of the tv and locking in for a game. Definitely not at that point yet but the thought is beginning to creep in. Blah.
Went to bed when we were up 3-1 thinking, “okay at least we’re taking care of business against a bottom team in the league”. Kasper and Bergy getting goals had me on cloud 9. Then I woke up to the horror of a 6-4 loss. Seems like whenever this team builds up any sort of momentum, albeit short spurts of momentum, they somehow find a way to lose all of it with a blunder of a game like last night. So frustrating.
Wanted 3-1 out of this road trip, but a loss like that to Anaheim is BRUTAL. Gotta show up and beat LA tonight. It’s a tall order, especially on back to back with travel.
I was feeling optimistic about this team being able to somewhat put it together after seeing some improvements to how we played in portions of the Toronto and NYR games. But games like last night bring me back down to reality. Keeping my fingers crossed Edvinsson is alright because I am afraid of what this team will look like without Mo and Ed carrying them defensively.
If we lose Gru might be gone

I fell asleep 3-1 fairly confident that the way they were playing they’d win.
I mean Anaheim IS one of the worst teams in the league…
Maybe we are too. Or it’s time to move on from Gru

Lalonde and the entire staff didn’t get fired after last night? Yeah, not gonna waste my time watching tonight.
Not worth my mental health
West coast trip always seems to be an issue. But that game was just bad and not okay either. Ugh
I just wanted to watch a nice game of hockey last night and it was going so well! Kasper got his first goal! They were up 3-1 to the shitty ducks! And then….
