Matt Moscona reacts to an ESPN article where they predict free agents following the 2024. Could the Saints move on from Derek Carr with a new coach coming in and take the salary cap hit for his contract. Would it be better for the Saints to keep Carr and draft their future and let him sit?

  1. Yes please move on from this playaction can’t read a defense special Ed qb … ya let’s get rid of Carr and lose out and go get cam ward or sanders please release special Ed qb

  2. Sorry Matt, Carr will get restructured again. Plan on seeing him for the next two seasons. They will give Spencer Rattler another year to mature. Rizz will be named head coach for 2025 season.

  3. Why are you giving up on Rattler being our franchise quarterback? I believe in him, I think he just needs time to develop. There are no franchise quarterbacks in this draft. We need linemen. Offensive and defensive.

  4. As long as Loomis is here, I don’t trust him to make the right moves this offseason. Right move would be keep Carr as your bridge QB (if he’s on board with that) and draft your future

  5. Here’s how this works:
    1. Saints Draft Nuss.
    1a. Underwood to LSU
    2. Carr “Chris Chandlers” Nuss a year.
    2a. Underwood plays immediately
    3. Carr goes to Browns
    4. Saints and LSU go all the way in 2 years.

  6. Loomis doesn’t like signing winners. He likes signing “nice team guys” he prefers “nice guy” over talent . Loomis is a clown 🤡🤡🤡🤡

  7. Saints would be wise to move on from Carr and others with these large contracts after the season that are wrong side of 30 yrs old. Carr specifically isn't the future no point of keep him around paying him ridiculous amount money. They can cut him and spread his money over next 2 yrs it sucks because of his dead money but you can't keep him around for team rebuild.

  8. Yeah, IDK. Makes sense to keep him on the team, and yet if you're going to draft a QB w/ an eye to the future along w/ there being a competition for QB1…you can't develop all 3 young QB's w/ Carr eating snaps.

  9. Here is what’s going to happen. Although he’s the best QB on the roster, they will release him so they can spread out the salary cap hit over two years.

His $30 million base salary becomes fully guaranteed on the third day of the 2025 league year. New Orleans could designate Carr as a post-June 1 release, accounting for only $21.458 million in 2025 and $28.674 next year. The Saints can only use this option on to two players: It allows the player to be released before June 1 and enter free agency without having to wait until the actual posted date, while the team can spread out the salary cap hit over two years instead of one.

  10. Yes please between Allen and Carr this team is the worst I've seen in 42 years. Worst then haslets 5-11 team by leaps and bounds. Belechek lol what's next ? Carr is Brady or Montana lol what a joke

  11. Only way if keep Carr is for the same money Winston made 1 mil a year prove it deal. His high salary along with loomis s incompetence the team is hot garbage. Carr is a loser. Aaron Brooks was better, in Billy Joe Herbert was better, wade Wilson the drunk was better ..he is literally the worst starting QB I've ever seen on this team. Slow read and react slow between the ears, pitiful mobility , declining accuracy , I can go on and on forever. I guarantee you Carr is gone after this year because the players gonna shun him like the fans already have? 4 years in the toilet with the Carr and Dennis Allen era. Next year ticket sales will be even worse. If Carr still on the team I'm not investing my time or money next year. I've already started sizing up our new garden that dirt has more life then this team

  12. Huge mistake to move on from Carr. He can play for at least another 10 years. Remember that one great year "statistically" he had back in 2014? Wow. Huge mistake not to keep Carr. When there is no pressure and maybe a blown coverage, Carr can complete a pass of at least 4 to 7 yards. (Sometimes) — If he might see it. Yeah, terrible idea to move on.

  13. I hate the philosophy that a high paid player must play. If we find a QB who is drastically better in the draft, Carr can be the backup. Avoid messy dead cap scenarios.

  14. Matt Matt such a Carr hater. What do you think the odds are of drafting a franchise Qb given their expected draft position. What happen to your guy Rattler. You were touting him as the next Saints QB. Sounds like a pump and dump position by you. Check Carrs current QB rating. Its 9th!!! out of 32. Wake up and smell the roses instead of crapping on Carr.
