capela on steroids isn’t someone I would want to spend a top 5 pick on in a good draft.
We need that go to number 1 scorer to complement Scottie
In this clip, he plays more like rookie Pascal but bigger and longer. He moves on the court much better than Capela ever has
Moves well for a big but I don’t see his ceiling being too high, definitely could become a starting big on a championship team but nothing special
Until I see some more consistent rim protection skills from Zikarsky, Khaman is the only C I see being worthy of a lottery pick this year. It’ll be interesting to see which lottery team wants to take a shot at him. Charlotte makes a lot of sense to me as a team perennially in need of a Center. Utah has Kessler but maybe they aren’t sold on him. Brooklyn has Claxton but maybe Khaman represents a more intriguing version of Noah Clowney. Washington has been playing Sarr at the 5 a lot and he’s already hit the ground running as a good rim protector. If the Clippers pick is in the late lottery and Khaman slips I could see OKC taking a chance on him as an eventual replacement for Hartenstein
Flattened lotto odds means we could still end up with the 5th/6th pick. Wouldn’t be too put out if we took him as we need a post Yak centre in development for when this team is a play off contender in 2/3 years
Khaman’s definitely *more* than another Clint Capela. Saying that is a major downplay for him. If we’re not drafting Top 3 or Top 4, I’d love to draft him. Mobile 7’2 big who’s strong and is developing a 3pt shot.
The last champions all the way up to our 2019 championship have all had stretch bigs. Unless he develops a reliable 3pt shot I don’t see him being a starting C on a contender.
Lol I thought it was Malachi in the title for a second. I was like whutt?
He’s a beast but hopefully we have too high of a pick for him. I’d have him behind Flagg, Ace, Harper, VJ, Demin, Tre Johnson personally. But in the next tier with Khaman, Jakucionis, Knueppel etc I probably prefer Khaman right now for sure.
James Wiseman looked pretty good in highlight packages too
People forget Embiid didn’t really play for the first 2 years of his career due to injury. If this young man takes 2-3 years to be serviceable it’s ok. His upside is MVP potentially. 7’2” and moves like that is nuts.
