Who do you sign “realistically” and “preferably”?

  1. Sasaki is basically free and might have the most upside potential of anyone on this list, if there’s a chance to sign him the excess value on the contract would be way higher than anyone else here. He’s probably a dodger though, so of the guys we could realistically sign Yusei, Eovaldi and Bieber would be my choices. Won’t take 6+ year deals and would anchor the middle of our rotation.

  2. They really don’t need starting pitching, until they figure out what they got with Manoah, Rodriguez, and Francis.

They also shouldn’t be going after Juan Soto.

They need relievers. So bad. I lost count of how many games the bullpen blew. Arg. This is making me crazy

  3. Preferably it’s Sasaki. Realistically it’s probably Yusei and/or Bieber.
I’d LOVE to get Bieber just because when he’s at the top of his game he’s one of the best AND we could get him for a decent price.

  4. Kikuchi and Bieber (connecting from Cleveland) and Sasaki (because he doesn’t prevent u from signing other players)

Use the rest of the money to upgrade roster after signing Soto. I rather live on hope, its fun to think about

  5. I would order them as Burnes > Fried > Kikuchi (for reasons other than performance) > Eovaldi > Flaherty > Bieber > Manaea > Snell > Buehler, with Sasaki being entirely seperate because he is not a normal free agent. Snell and Buehler are the only ones I would not really want. Buehler is going to get overpaid by someone for a couple of playoff starts that went well and Snell is great, but with the bullpen being a massive uncertainty right now, I don’t think a guy who will only go 5 innings is a good fit.

  6. I’d love to get Roki Sasaki, insane fastball and nearly pitched 2 perfect games in a row in japan.

  7. Flaherty’s position on this list just boggles my mind. Incredibly spotty and injury plagued history should not be overlooked because of a single year. Buyer definitely beware on that one.

  8. Burnes and Snell are the best high end arms but I worry about injury potential with both of them. Fried is incredibly consistent and hasn’t put the same load on his arm year after year as Burnes so he’d be my choice.

  9. I would be targeting Jack Flaherty. Top flight pitcher, world series experience, and relatively young. He’s going to go low, and is definitely a risk, but on the other hand, there’s still room for a higher upside.

Also, and obviously, Roki Sasaki. Maybe more of a risk, especially in the first year, but he’s young and has a huge upside. To support Sasaki, and as a strong candidate in his own right, I would be seeking to add Kikuchi.

You might say, do we need three pitchers? Yes. And as insurance, I’d probably also take a flier on Briber. You might say, do we need four pitchers? Yes. Gausman is 33, Bassett is 35, and Manoah is Manoah. We don’t know what we’re going to get out of the starting rotations. We need this depth.

  10. Sasaki to a normal IFA signing with the regular bonuses. The n immediatelly resign him to a 6 year 120 million contract. That’s more than he’ll make with the Dodgers going the regular pre arb and arb route.

  11. Preferably: Kooch Burnes Fried

Realistically: Kooch Bieber (totally realistic it is it is it is)
