Given the Blue Jays pressing need for bullpen help this offseason, could taking a flyer on someone like Soroka be a good idea depending on how much he’s asking for?

  1. Depends on the price but it’s a fine move to make. The Jays probably have to find some more sure things in the pen, but we also need to hit on a few reclamation projects and Soroka could be decent.

  2. I actually really want the Jays to lean into the Canadian thing. Bring in O Neil and Soroka. W/ Romano it would be unprecedented amount of quality Canadians on the team.

  3. Sox will want prospects.

Jay’s have no value there to give

Also really doesn’t help with the offensive issues at all

  4. There is also the whole “Can you really judge someone pitching for the 2024 Sox?” thing.

Because you’re going to have to push the limits of analytics (/s) to figure out if the pitcher sucked, or if the team was just so bad that it dragged everyone down with it.

  5. Could definitely make an impact on any team not named the White Sox. Even though he was 0-10, his stats still indicate he was much better. Still young, and still can get signed, why not sign in his come country eh?
