[Charlie Clifford] Sam Hubbard reveals this summer he was told surgery would knock him out for the entire 2024 season. Instead, the longest-tenured player on the Bengals roster opted to push forward.

  1. Explains why his play has been so poor this year, but you’d have to think at this rate we’d be better benching him and playing literally anyone else?

  2. He said at a wedding this summer he thought he had one year left. Those ankle surgeries must’ve been way worse than we thought

I hope the big guy isn’t doing himself damage that would last once he hangs the cleats up

    Here’s to the Cincinnati kid

  3. If a surgery has that big of a recovery time, it’s probably a very necessary procedure that could allow him to hit the field in better playing shape.

  4. He definitely got pushed by Lamar… Twice, in one single play. Sorry Hubbs, appreciate what you’ve done for the team but it’s time to hang it up.

  5. So instead of him not playing and the team (maybe) being better, he chose to play and make the team (probably) worse. Sounds logical.

  6. This is more of an indictment on the coaching staff.

ZT can be waaaay too much of a players coach sometimes. I’m sure Sam wanted to play but good Lord ZT everyone that watches these games can tell he just ain’t it.

Sometimes you need to do what’s best of the team.

  7. Okay so Murphy is a bust clearly. He can’t even get on the field with Hubbard playing like trash
